On February 11th and 13th,the Chaozhou Catering Association will stage the carefully prepared "2026 Happy Chinese New Year—Moving Reunion Dinner" event in Frankfurt, Germany, bringing the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) of Chaozhou cuisine across mountains and oceans through two Teochew culinary feasts. It will showcase the ICH culinary craftsmanship and food culture of Chaozhou cuisine, letting the distinct "Guangdong Flavors" of cuisine expand global reach. More than 300 local officials, business leaders, educators, and cultural figures in Frankfurt will personally taste authentic Chaozhou cuisine and fully experience the distinctive appeal of Chinese culinary culture through interactive activities.

Since 2016, the "Moving Reunion Dinner" event has taken place in dozens of countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Sweden. Through diverse formats such as New Year's Eve dinner, media tasting, craftsmanship demonstrations, and interactive experiences, the event provides people around the world with an immersive encounter with traditional Chinese culture and the rich festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, becoming an important vehicle for bringing Chinese cuisine to the global stage. According to organizers, the 2026 "Moving Reunion Dinner" event has already received invitations from Chinese embassies and consulates general in Grenada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Frankfurt, as well as multiple cultural centers, and preparations are now fully underway.

For this leg of the journey, the Chaozhou Catering Association has assembled a team of nationally recognized ICH masters of Chaozhou cuisine to deliver a New Year's Eve dinner centered on the ritual of "wei lu(gathering around the family hearth)." Blending the delicacies from land and sea with folk wisdom and family warmth, the team will demonstrate traditional Chaozhou cooking techniques on site. Signature dishes such as Hong Fu Qi Tian (Chaozhou braised goose), Hong Tao Fu Zhi (pan-fried red peach cake), and Fu Gui Man Dai (pomegranate-shaped dumplings) will be showcased, illustrating the perfect harmony of ingredients and heat control and highlighting Chaozhou cuisine's core qualities of "delicate, light and fresh flavors, tender texture and ingenious and elegant presentation."

Chinese master of Chaozhou cuisine Fang Shuguang told reporters that, considering local ingredient limitations in Frankfurt, the team will retain traditional cooking methods while bringing hard-to-source ingredients such as plum sauce and galangal after on-site research. They have also flexibly adjusted the menu to strive to present authentic Chaozhou flavors in a foreign land, so that more people can understand and fall in love with Chaozhou cuisine.

行走的年夜饭，德国见！| 广货行天下

2月11日、13日，潮州市餐饮协会精心筹备的“2026年欢乐春节——行走的年夜饭”活动，将带着中国非遗美食瑰宝潮州菜跨越山海，在德国法兰克福举办两场潮味盛宴，全方位推介潮州菜非遗技艺与美食文化，让“广味”香飘海外。300多位法兰克福当地政商、教育、文化等各界人士将亲口品尝地道潮州风味，在互动中全方位领略中餐美食文化的独特魅力。

自2016年起，“行走的年夜饭”已先后走进英国、德国、瑞典等几十个国家和地区，通过年夜饭晚宴、媒体品鉴、技艺展演、互动体验等多元形式，让世界各地民众沉浸式感受中国传统文化与浓郁新春氛围，成为中华美食走向世界的重要载体。据悉，2026年“行走的年夜饭”已收到中国驻格林纳达、英国、韩国、法兰克福等使领馆及多家文化中心的邀请，相关工作已全面启动。

此次潮州市餐饮协会集结国家级非遗潮州菜烹饪大师团队出征，带去一场以“围炉”为核心仪式的年夜饭，将山海珍味、民俗智慧与家族温情熔于一炉。大师们将在现场展示潮州菜传统烹饪技艺，以鸿福齐天（潮州卤水鹅）、红桃福至（香煎红桃粿）、富贵满袋（富贵石榴球）等经典菜品，演绎食材与火候的完美交融，展现潮州菜“清、淡、鲜、嫩、巧、雅”的核心特质。

中国烹饪大师方树光告诉记者：“考虑到法兰克福当地原料限制，团队考察后保留本土烹调工艺，携带梅膏酱、南姜等当地难购的食材与佐料，同时灵活调整菜品，力求在异国他乡呈现正宗潮州风味，让更多人了解并喜爱潮州菜。”
