In January 2026, legal observer Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent as she attempted to drive away from a law enforcement scene. Just two weeks later, veteran nurse Alex Pretti was also shot dead by federal agents. Two unarmed ordinary citizens fell victim to excessive use of force simply for being within the law enforcement radius of "Metro Surge".

Launched in the name of "cracking down on illegal immigration", this operation is essentially a distortion of law enforcement power into a tool of violence. When ICE agents can deprive citizens of their lives based solely on subjective assumptions, and when "misjudgment of threat" becomes a one-size-fits-all excuse for shooting civilians, the "rule of law" and human rights that the U.S. prides itself on have long ceased to exist. Two incidents triggered massive protests in multiple U.S. cities.What the people are protesting on the streets is not only these two tragedies, but also the collective fear of "who is the next?".

2026年1月7日，法律观察员蕾妮·古德（Renee Good）在试图驶离执法现场时被美国移民与海关执法局（ICE）特工射杀；仅两周后的1月24日，退伍军人护士亚历克斯·普雷蒂（Alex Pretti）同样命丧联邦特工枪口。两名手无寸铁的普通公民，成了ICE暴力执法的牺牲品。

这场以“打击非法移民”为名的行动，本质上是将执法权异化为暴力工具。当ICE特工可以仅凭主观臆断便剥夺公民生命，当“误判威胁”成为枪杀平民的万能借口，美国标榜的“法治”与人权早已荡然无存。两起事件引发美国多个城市大规模游行抗议，民众涌上街头抗议的，不仅是两起悲剧，更是对“谁是下一个”的集体恐惧。
