With the implementation of the new national railway timetable starting January 26th, Guangzhou Railway Station will no longer handle the origination and termination of conventional trains. Once the "first stop" for countless people heading south for work, Guangzhou Railway Station was where many dreams began. A reporter from the Yangcheng Evening News visited the station to record the final moments as the last few green trains departed.

"Although it used to run quite slowly, I still feel a bit down if it's gone," said Mr. Song, who was taking Train K303 to Xuzhou. He recalled his experiences riding green trains since 1995, the most vivid memory being how crowded it was to get to the restroom. When he learned that Guangzhou Railway Station would no longer have green trains in the future, he couldn't help but sigh: "Times develop too fast."

Ms. Li, who has worked in Guangzhou for 16 years, often takes trains from Guangzhou Railway Station back to her hometown in Hunan. Over the years, with more high-speed and bullet trains in service, she has still kept the habit of riding green trains. As green trains gradually decrease, Ms. Li feels this change is moving in a better direction, with a steadily improving travel experience. For those who feel nostalgic about the times of riding green trains, she said, "Maybe they're just missing the times when they were young."

Mr. Li, a retired serviceman, has a special attachment to Guangzhou Railway Station. He went to the square in front of the station to take photos and even started a video chat to let his family see the station. Since joining the army in Guangzhou back in the 1980s, Mr. Li has taken a train home from here every year, and Guangzhou Railway Station has served as the starting point for family reunions. Now older in age, Mr. Li actually prefers riding green trains even more. "High-speed trains are too fast," he said. "The green train goes slowly, and you can watch the scenery along the way and chat with other passengers."

广州火车站“告别”绿皮车倒计时，记者实地走访

1月26日起，全国铁路新运行图实施，广州火车站不再办理普速列车始发终到业务。作为无数人南下打工“第一站”，广州火车站曾是梦开始的地方。羊城晚报记者走访广州火车站，记录最后几班绿皮火车由此出发的尾声片段。

“虽然以前晃着挺慢，但没了还是有点失落。”乘坐K303次列车去徐州的宋大哥回想从1995年开始坐绿皮火车的经历，印象最深的是要挤着去上卫生间。当他得知广州火车站以后不再有绿皮火车，不由得感叹：时代脚步太快了。

李大姐来广州打工16年，经常从广州火车站坐车回湖南老家。这些年，高铁、动车越来越多，她仍保留着坐绿皮火车的习惯。绿皮火车慢慢减少，李大姐觉得，这是在往更好的方向走，乘车体验感逐步提升。而对于有人怀念坐绿皮火车的时光，她表示：“可能就是怀念自己年轻的模样吧。”

退伍军人老李对广州火车站有着特殊的感情，他跑到广场拍照留念，还开了视频聊天让家里人看看这座火车站。自上世纪八十年代到广州当兵，老李每年都是从这里坐车回老家，广州火车站是他与家人团聚的起点。年纪上来了，老李反而更喜欢坐绿皮火车。“高铁太快了，绿皮火车慢慢来，看看沿途风景，聊聊天。”
