The 2026 Greater Bay Area(GBA) Lantern Carnival will officially light up on February 10th, 2026. The carnival's main venues are set at the Nansha Tianhou Palace and Nansha Binhai Park in Guangzhou, running through May 10th for a total of 90 days. Spanning over 50 hectares, the event will feature five themed exhibition zones, showcase hundreds of large lantern displays and tens of thousands of colorful lights, and host nearly a thousand live performances throughout the carnival.

For the first time, the carnival introduces a "day-and-night" operation model. During the daytime, visitors can enjoy activities around Binhai Park and Tianhou Temple, such as the jungle zipline, outdoor camping, and Mazu blessing ritual. At night, visitors can immerse themselves in the breathtaking lantern viewing experience.

The first exhibition zone centers on the Year of the Horse in the Chinese lunar calendar, using cyberpunk aesthetics to embody the vigorous spirit and presenting the GBA's drive forward through radiant lantern displays of auspicious clouds and divine steeds. The second zone focuses on an ecological theme, depicting elements like mangroves and the Chinese white dolphin through light and shadow to showcase achievements in building a green and beautiful GBA. The third zone displays lanterns integrating elements like AI powers and deep-sea exploration, along with a"Youth Innovation Lantern Corridor" featuring designs by the youth from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The fourth zone transforms into a living historical and cultural street, bringing together intangible cultural heritage items, time-honored local cuisines, and performances by heritage inheritors. The fifth zone recreates nostalgic streetscapes of Hong Kong and Macao through light and shadow and offers a listening experience of golden Hong Kong film and TV oldies.

Compared with the first edition, this year's carnival achieves a multidimensional upgrade in technology applications and activities. Organizers will apply technologies widely, such as VR interaction, digital light and shadow, and AI, to create a more futuristic experience. For example, at the "Ecological Symphony" exhibition zone, an extraordinary ecological wonderland will be presented through holographic projections and mist effects.

2026年粤港澳大湾区灯会将于2月10日正式亮灯。据悉，本届灯会主会场设于广州南沙天后宫景区及滨海公园，展期持续至5月10日，共计90天。灯会规划面积超50公顷，设置五大主题展区，展出百组大型灯景及万盏彩灯，其间还将举办千场演艺活动。

灯会首创“白+黑”运营模式，白天游客可体验滨海公园及天后宫周边的丛林飞跃、户外营地、妈祖祈福等活动，夜晚则沉浸式游览灯会。

灯会第一展区紧扣农历马年，运用赛博朋克美学塑造龙马精神，通过祥云神骏灯组展现湾区奋进姿态。第二展区聚焦生态主题，以光影呈现红树林、中华白海豚等元素，展示绿美湾区建设成就。第三展区融合AI呈现、深海探索等科技灯组，并展出粤港澳青少年创作的“少年创想灯廊”。第四展区打造活态历史文化街区，汇聚粤港澳非遗项目、老字号美食及非遗传承人展演。第五展区通过光影复原港澳怀旧街景，并设置香港影视金曲聆听体验。

相较于首届，本届灯会在科技应用与活动内容上实现多维升级。主办方广泛应用VR互动、数字光影、人工智能等技术打造更具未来感的体验。例如在“绿野仙踪”展区，将结合全息光影与雾森效果营造生态奇境。
