On January 2nd, the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)'s Little Plum Blossom Opera Competition was held at the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Art Center. The event was jointly organized by the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Guangdong Theatre Association, and was meticulously hosted by the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Institute, bridging the youth from the GBA through a cultural exchange platform centered on traditional Chinese opera.

Zeng Xiaomin, a member of the Party Leadership Group and full-time Vice President of the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and President of the Guangdong Theatre Association, introduced that the scale of the second edition in 2025 hit a new high in her opening remarks. It attracted enthusiastic participation from 1,125 young performers representing 93 groups across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, achieving a historic best with 19 projects selected for the 29th China's Little Plum Blossom Opera Competition.

During the performances, a number of classic and original productions took the stage in succession, presenting a spectacular feast of traditional Chinese opera. The original Cantonese opera "Eternal Regret in The Battle of Yashan" reenacted a heroic and tragic history, highlighting the indomitable spirit of the nation; the 6-year-old performer Deng Muyang's performance in the Cantonese opera "Copper Net Trap" vividly portrayed the courage and fearlessness of a young hero; the original Cantonese opera "A Tale of Waterlogging Control" revisited historical struggles form a child's perspective and conveyed a profound sense of devotion to safeguard the homeland.

Other featured works included Teochew opera "Death Remonstration," Guangdong Han opera "Qin Xianglian: Murder in the Temple," Leizhou opera "Lin Chong's Getaway at Nightfall," Peking opera "Beating the Drum and Cursing Cao Cao," and Cantonese opera "Wu Song Fights the Tiger." Each piece showcased its distinctive charm, with the young performers delivering superb acting and rich emotions. The original Cantonese opera "The Ballad of Mulan" brought fresh vitality to the spirit of Mulan, which demonstrates that "women are as capable as men."

It is mentioned that the 3rd GBA's Little Plum Blossom Opera Competition will be held in May 2026 in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

第二届粤港澳少儿戏剧小梅花荟萃展演举办

1月2日，第二届粤港澳少儿戏剧小梅花荟萃展演在广东粤剧艺术中心举行。本次活动由广东省文学艺术界联合会、广东省戏剧家协会联合主办，广东粤剧院精心承办，以戏曲为桥，搭建粤港澳青少年文化交流平台。

广东省文联党组成员、专职副主席，广东省戏剧家协会主席曾小敏在致辞中介绍，2025年第二届活动规模再创新高，吸引粤港澳93个单位的1125名小演员踊跃参与，并在第29届中国少儿戏曲小梅花荟萃中创下19个项目入选的历史佳绩。

展演环节中，多个经典与原创剧目轮番登场，呈现一场精彩纷呈的戏曲盛宴。原创粤剧《伶仃九拍·崖海遗恨》重现悲壮历史，彰显民族不屈魂灵；6岁小演员邓沐阳演绎的粤剧《铜网阵》，将少年英雄的果敢无畏展现得淋漓尽致；原创粤剧《治水记》以孩童视角回溯历史，传递守望家园的深厚情怀；

潮剧《死谏》、广东汉剧《秦香莲·杀庙》、雷剧《林冲夜奔》、京剧《击鼓骂曹》、粤剧《武松打虎》等剧目各具特色，小演员们以精湛的演技、饱满的情感，诠释了不同剧种的独特魅力；原创粤剧《木兰诗》则让“巾帼不让须眉”的木兰精神在新时代焕发新的活力。

据悉，第三届粤港澳少儿戏剧小梅花荟萃将于2026年5月在珠海市高新区举办。
