On December 13th, the sitting volleyball event entered its second-to-last competition day at the gym of South China Agricultural University during the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG).

At the Rehabilitation Assistive Devices Service Station inside the gym, repair technician Sun Yong was half-squatting on the floor, inspecting and fixing a wheelchair. His right prosthetic leg drew attention. Having worn a prosthetic limb for over 20 years, Sun told reporters that he had found renewed purpose at this NGD & NSOG. On one occasion, the rim of an athlete's wheelchair was accidentally deformed. Sun immediately contacted the manufacturer and ensured the timely replacement of the entire rim set. As a person with a disability himself, Sun understands better than most how crucial well-functioning assistive equipment is. From a service recipient to a service provider, Sun continued the warmth-giving move through his repair service.
"Ready! Sprint! Wipe!" Whenever the whistle blew on the court, several figures in green dashed in with cleaning rags to quickly wipe away sweat from the floor. They are the volunteers known as the"quick wipers". Throughout a single match, these volunteers may run back and forth dozens of times, and by the final whistle, they are already soaked with sweat.

Another group of volunteers at the competition venue, the "ball runners", act as the "ball stewards", responsible for collecting balls, wiping them dry, and promptly returning them to the athletes.

In different corners of the event, countless others were equally busy. Security personnel remained on constant patrol, medical staff stayed on standby throughout the competition, and cleaning crews worked silently through the venue. Each person fulfilled their role with dedication and close coordination, ensuring the smooth and successful running of the Games.
