At this year's China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (short for "CITIE"), the "Lingnan Yangshengju," an exhibition presented by Yangcheng Evening News and the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, made a high-profile debut, showcasing a variety of signature Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapies such as fire dragon cupping, heat-sensitive moxibustion, acupressure seeds, and aromatic sachet-making. On September 14th, the third day of the expo, many foreign visitors flocked to experience these therapies first-hand.

That morning, Venezuelan exhibitor Leonel Matos was immediately drawn to the fire dragon cupping therapy, the most popular one with the longest queue. This unique therapy, which combines moxibustion, gua sha, and tui na, is believed to strengthen the body's vital energy while dispelling cold, dampness, and internal blockages. "How do you feel? Is it hot? Does it hurt?" a reporter asked. Leonel, who had a ripped body, replied calmly, "It's warm and very comfortable. I don't feel any pain at all!"

Another Venezuelan exhibitor, Diego, opted for a "lighter" combination—moxibustion and acupressure seeds. The acupressure seeds surprised him with an unexpected sensation. "I thought it was just about sticking something on the ear," he said, "but I actually felt soreness and a little pain at some acupuncture points." A nearby TCM practitioner pointed to the ear acupoints chart, explaining that different acupoints on the ear correspond to various internal organs and body functions. "I've always enjoyed Chinese massage and often recommend it to friends," Diego added. "Today was another great new experience."

At the "Smell of Chinese Herbs" booth, Evgenii Burdo, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Development, picked up several different herbal samples to distinguish their aromas. "We also have herbal medicine traditions in Russia, somewhat similar to essential oils," Burdo told reporters. "So I really enjoy the smell of these Chinese herbs." He added, "Nowadays, TCM is quite popular in Russia. Many hospitals have acupuncture clinics operated by Chinese doctors, and more Russian physicians are learning these techniques."
