China commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression with a grand military parade.

Before September 3rd, Japan attempted to prevent leaders of some countries from participating in the military parade by putting pressure through diplomatic channels. Japan holds a conflicted attitude towards China's Vday parade: unwilling to acknowledge China's growing military strength, yet forced to face the ever-widening gap between the two countries.
