The 2025 Southern China Book Fair intensified its efforts in both "bringing in" and "going global," achieving an internationally rejuvenated upgrade. The main venue set up a 10,000m² "Read the World" Pavilion (the International Culture Exhibition Hall), showcasing publications from 23 countries and regions, and approximately 20,000 imported original books from top international publishing houses across Europe, America, Japan, and South Korea.

Journalists report that multiple publishers conducted copyright signings and copyright business negotiations with publishing institutions from Germany, Greece, Egypt, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Among the signed agreements were Greek-language versions of "A Brief History of Guangdong" and "Winter Pasture," and an Arabic-language version of "Resilient as Wind and Jade." To date, the Book Fair has achieved 102 copyright trade agreements (including statements of intent) between Chinese and foreign publishers, taking the international copyright business exchangesto a new level.

"Stepping into the Vietnam Pavilion felt like entering Southeast Asia," said Mr. Shi, a Guangzhou resident. "You could learn about Vietnamese culture through reading, and also taste Vietnamese coffee and baguettes." Tourist brochures, badges, and other souvenirs in the Vietnam display cases were not much left. The most popular area was the food tasting zone, where Vietnamese drip coffee, baguettes, spring rolls, and other specialties received unanimous praise from visitors.

"Past editions of the Book Fair focused primarily on a single guest-of-honor country," said a representative of the International Pavilion. "This year, we have expanded the scale of international pavilions and assembled publishing, cultural tourism, and business resources so that readers can experience the world through books." This year's Book Fair achieved several "firsts". For example, the exhibition of "Silent Book Contest 2025 Gianni De Conno Award (SBC)" made its debutin the Chinese mainland, and Wendelin Van Draanen, author of the bestseller "Flipped," visited China for the first time to "share" with her readers.

书写文化交流新范式 书香节“国际范”拉满

2025年南国书香节加大“引进来”和“走出去”力度，实现国际化焕新升级。主会场特设1万平方米的“阅·世界”国际文化展厅，集中展销23个国家和地区的出版成果、约2万种来自欧美日韩等国际顶尖出版机构的进口原版图书。

据记者了解，多家出版社与来自德国、希腊、埃及、马来西亚、越南等国家的出版文化机构举办了版权签约与版贸洽谈活动，签署了《广东简史》希腊文版、《冬牧场》希腊文版、《如风似璧》阿文版等版权合作协议。截至目前，本届书香节已达成中外版权贸易协议（含意向）102项，标志着国际版贸交流迈向新高度。

“走进越南国家馆，仿佛来到了东南亚，既可以阅读了解越南文化，还可以品尝越南咖啡、法棍。”广州市民石先生分享。越南展柜上的旅游手册、徽章等纪念品已所剩无几。人气最旺的是美食品鉴区，滴漏咖啡、法棍、春卷等越南特色美食获得市民游客的一致好评。

“往年的书香节主要聚焦主宾国，今年进一步扩大国际展馆规模，集结出版、文旅、商务等国际资源，让读者以书为媒介感受世界各国的方方面面。”国际馆相关负责人表示，今年书香节实现了多个突破，例如，“国际无字书暨贾尼·德·科诺大奖（SBC）”展览在中国大陆的首度亮相，畅销书《怦然心动》作者文德琳·范·德拉安南首次来华与读者一起分享。
