From November 22nd to 24th, the 5th China Aquatic Seedling Expo and the 2nd Guangdong (International) Modern Marine Ranching Industry Conference were held in Guangzhou, attracting over 50,000 visits. Among the highlights were the inaugural Guangzhou "Nansha Cup" International Tropical Ornamental Fish Competition and the Guangzhou Specialty Ornamental Fish Exhibition.

Co-organized by the China Fisheries Association and the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairsof Nansha District, the "Nansha Cup" featured three categories: bettas, ornamental shrimp, and arowana. The competition drew 19 teams from countries and regions such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore, with nearly 300 domestic entries. In the end, Guangzhou competitors Liu Shaopeng and Jiang Guoqian claimed first place respectively in the betta fish and ornamental shrimp categories, while domestic aquaculture company representatives dominated the arowana category's top three rankings.

Peng Lixia from the China Fisheries Association highlighted Guangzhou's rich history and diverse varieties of ornamental fish breeding, noting that the competition has reinvigorated the industry and underscored the city's robust industrial foundation and supportive policies. Chen Bo from the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangzhou Municipalities emphasized the ornamental fish industry as a distinctive sector of Guangzhou's modern fisheries, playing a crucial role in boosting farmers' income and advancing urban agriculture.

During the event, China successfully unveiled the artificial multi-generational breeding of arowana and the groundbreaking "biannual breeding" technology. Researcher Mou Xidong from the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute explained that the institute has been tackling issues such as lack of intellectual property and foreign monopolies in arowana breeding since 2001. This year marks a breakthroughin the fully domesticated artificial multi-generational breeding and the high-quality,and efficient production with the "biannual breeding" technology of three types of arowana.

The Guangzhou Specialty Ornamental Fish Exhibition showcased a wide array of aquatic species, including koi and small tropical fish, alongside related equipment. Interactive experiences such as ecological landscaping and a 4D cinema added a dynamic dimension to the event. The ecological landscape creation activitynamed "Fish and Me: Green and Beautiful Countryside", which involved students from institutions like Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and South China Agricultural University, brought youthful energy to the exhibition.

南沙年产观赏鱼4000万条！国际“鱼友”来“斗鱼”

11月22日至24日，第五届水产种业博览会暨第二届广东（国际）现代化海洋牧场产业大会在广州举行，吸引超过5万人次观展。同期举办的首届广州“南沙杯”国际热带观赏鱼大赛及广州特色观赏鱼展成为活动亮点。  

首届“南沙杯”国际热带观赏鱼大赛由中国渔业协会和广州市南沙区农业农村局主办，设置斗鱼、观赏虾和龙鱼三大组别，吸引了来自泰国、印尼、新加坡等多个国家和地区的19支队伍参赛，国内参赛鱼虾近300组。最终，广州选手刘绍鹏与江国钱分别摘得斗鱼和观赏虾组冠军，龙鱼组前三名则由国内养殖企业选手获得。

中国渔业协会庞丽霞表示，广州观赏鱼养殖历史悠久、品种丰富，赛事为行业发展注入新活力，也彰显广州深厚的产业基础和政策支持优势。广州市农业农村局陈波指出，观赏鱼产业是广州现代渔业的特色产业之一，对于促进农民增收和都市农业发展具有重要意义。

活动期间，中国龙鱼全人工连续多代繁育及“一年两繁”科技成果成功发布。据珠江水产研究所牟希东研究员介绍，针对我国龙鱼自主知识产权缺乏和国外垄断等产业问题，珠江水产研究所于2001年开始科研攻关，时至今年，全面实现三条龙鱼国产化全人工连续多代繁育与“一年两繁”技术的高效高质稳定生产。

在广州特色观赏鱼展上，展区涵盖锦鲤、小型热带鱼等多种水族生物及相关设备，还融入生态造景和4D影院等互动体验。其中，“鱼我同学·乡村绿美”生态景观创作活动吸引了香港科技大学（广州）、华南农业大学等多所高校学生参与，为活动增添青春活力。
