On October 21st, the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Statistics released the economic data for the first three quarters of 2024. Guangdong's GDP reached 9,993.918 billion yuan, up 3.4% year-on-year. The primary sector grew by 3.0%, the secondary sector by 4.8%, and the tertiary sector by 2.5%. According to the Bureau's analysis, Guangdong's economy remained stable overall, with continuous improvements in economic structure.
Agricultural production in Guangdong remained steady, with an ample supply of agricultural products, safeguarding the food supply of the national economy. The planting area of early rice increased by 0.4%, with stable yields. The output of economic crops such as vegetables and fruits also rose, with vegetable and edible fungi production up by 3.2%. Special industries like tea and ornamental plants performed well, growing by 7.4% and 8.1%, respectively.
Industry, the backbone of Guangdong's economy, saw a value-added industrial output of three trillion yuan, up 4.7% year-on-year. Over 70% of industrial sectors experienced growth. The added value of the computer, communication, and electronic equipment manufacturing sector increased by 15.5%, while the electrical machinery manufacturing sector grew by 3.4%. As the new drivers of the industry, advanced manufacturing, and high-tech manufacturing have stood out. Their added value has grown by 6.9% and 11.6% respectively. Notably, high-end electronic information manufacturing grew by 14.7%.
In terms of investment, industrial investment in Guangdong grew by 9.1% during the first three quarters, reaching a record-high proportion of total investment. Supported by large-scale equipment upgrade policies, equipment and tool purchase investment surged by 19.1%. Investments in industries that provide impetus maintained rapid growth, with investments in advanced manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing increasing by 12.6% and 14.5%, respectively. Althoughinvestment in real estate development dropped by 17.2%, the overall investment structure continued to improve, laying a foundation for future economic growth.
It is also noteworthy that Guangdong's service sector is steadily recovering. During the first three quarters, the added value of the service industry increased by 2.5% year-on-year. Within the sector, the transportation, warehousing, and postal services industry grew by 10.2%, the information transmission, software, and information technology services industry by 8.7%, and the leasing and business services industry by 5.7%.

广东前三季度经济数据公布:实现GDP近10万亿元
10月21日,广东省统计局发布了2024年前三季度经济运行数据。广东前三季度地区生产总值达99939.18亿元,同比增长3.4%。其中,第一产业增长3.0%,第二产业增长4.8%,第三产业增长2.5%。广东省统计局分析指出,前三季度,广东经济运行总体平稳,经济结构持续优化提升。
广东农业生产总体稳定,农产品供应充足,稳住了国民经济“饭碗”。广东早稻播种面积增长0.4%,产量稳定。蔬菜水果等经济作物产量增长,蔬菜及食用菌产量增长3.2%,茶叶和观赏植物等特色产业也有较好表现,分别增长7.4%和8.1%。
工业作为广东经济的“顶梁柱”,全省规模以上工业增加值3.00万亿元,同比增长4.7%。工业行业增长面超七成,其中,计算机、通信和电子设备制造业增加值增长15.5%,电气机械制造业增长3.4%。新动能产业表现突出,先进制造业和高技术制造业增加值分别增长6.9%和11.6%,尤其是高端电子信息制造业增长14.7%。
投资方面,前三季度广东工业投资增长9.1%,占全部投资比重创下新高。受大规模设备更新政策支持,设备工器具购置投资增长19.1%。新动能投资保持较快增长,先进制造业和高技术制造业投资分别增长12.6%、14.5%。尽管房地产开发投资下降17.2%,但整体投资结构持续优化,为未来经济增长积蓄了动能。
此外值得注意的是,广东的服务业也正在持续恢复中。前三季度,全省服务业增加值同比增长2.5%。其中,交通运输、仓储和邮政业,信息传输、软件和信息技术服务业,租赁和商务服务业分别增长10.2%、8.7%、5.7%。
