According to the Guangdong Sub-administration of GACC, Guangdong's total foreign trade in the first eight months of 2024 reached 5.95 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%. This growth rate was 6.8 percentage points higher than the national average, with Guangdong accounting for 20.8% of China's total foreign trade. Exports amounted to 3.88 trillion yuan, up 11.3%, while imports totaled 2.07 trillion yuan, a 15.8% rise.
August marked the fifth consecutive month of growth in Guangdong's monthly foreign trade. In August alone, the province recorded imports and exports worth 785.43 billion yuan, up 6.2% year-on-year. Specifically, exports rose 3.6% to 514.01 billion yuan, while imports surged 11.5% to 271.42 billion yuan.
General tradeaccounted for nearly 60% of the totalwhile bonded logistics saw rapid expansion. In the first eight months, Guangdong's general trade reached 3.51 trillion yuan, up 14.6%, making up 59% of the province's total trade. Processing trade amounted to 1.26 trillion yuan, a 3.2% increase, representing 21.1%, while bonded logistics grew by 24.4% to 1.12 trillion yuan, accounting for 18.9% of the total.
Private enterprises continued to drive growth, contributing over 60% of the province's trade. In the first eight months, the import and export value of Guangdong's private enterprises reached 3.8 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.6%, outpacing the province's overall growth by 6.8 percentage points, accounting for 63.8% of the total foreign trade value. During the same period, foreign-invested enterprises recorded 1.84 trillion yuan in trade, up 2.5%, accounting for 31% of the total, while state-owned enterprises contributed 298.8 billion yuan, a 1.4% increase, making up 5%.
Guangdong maintained strong growth in its major markets. In the first eight months, trade with its top five partners—ASEAN, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the US, the EU, and Taiwan—rose steadily, with increase of 12%, 17.6%, 8.5%, 7.1%, and 16.8% respectively. Guangdong also saw significant growth in emerging markets, with trade with 17 Middle Eastern countries, Latin America, and five Central Asian nations rising by 14.6%, 18.8%, and 34.3%, respectively.

据中国海关总署广东分署统计,今年前8个月,广东外贸进出口5.95万亿元,较去年同期(下同)增长12.8%,增速较全国平均水平快6.8个百分点,占全国比重20.8%。其中,出口3.88万亿元,增长11.3%;进口2.07万亿元,增长15.8%。
其中,单月进出口连续5个月保持正增长。2024年8月,广东进出口7854.3亿元,增长6.2%,连续5个月保持正增长。其中,出口5140.1亿元,增长3.6%;进口2714.2亿元,增长11.5%。
一般贸易占比近6成,保税物流较快增长。前8个月,广东一般贸易进出口3.51万亿元,增长14.6%,占广东进出口总值的59%;加工贸易进出口1.26万亿元,增长3.2%,占21.1%;保税物流1.12万亿元,增长24.4%,占18.9%。
民营企业增长较快,占比超6成。前8个月,广东民营企业进出口3.8万亿元,增长19.6%,增速快于广东整体6.8个百分点,占广东外贸总值的63.8%。同期,外商投资企业进出口1.84万亿元,增长2.5%,占31%;国有企业2988亿元,增长1.4%,占5%。
对主要市场保持良好增长势头。前8个月,东盟、中国香港、美国、欧盟、中国台湾为广东前5大贸易伙伴,广东对其进出口均实现正增长,分别增长12%、17.6%、8.5%、7.1%、16.8%。同时,广东对新兴市场开拓成效明显,其中,对中东17国、拉美、中亚5国等市场进出口较快增长,分别增长14.6%、18.8%、34.3%。
