On September 3^rd afternoon, XPENG AEROHT hosted a preview event showcasing its modular flying car, the "Land Aircraft Carrier", marking the first public appearance of the physical vehicle in the Guangzhou Development District or Huangpu District. The event featured a live demonstration of the air module's flight, offering a glimpse into the future of flying cars.

In July, the Guangzhou Development District entered into an investment cooperation agreement with XPENG AEROHT, marking the establishment of the company's flying car research and development, intelligent manufacturing, and sales hub in the district, where the flight component of the "Land Aircraft Carrier" will be produced. The "Land Aircraft Carrier" will make its first public manned flight at the China Airshow in Zhuhai, one of the world's four major aviation events, this November. Additionally, it will appear at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in November, with pre-sales expected to start by the end of the year.

The only car in the world that can store an aircraft

XPENG AEROHT, recognized as Asia's largest flying car company and an integral part of XPENG Motors' ecosystem, first unveiled the development of its modular flying car, the "Land Aircraft Carrier," in October 2023. This preview event marked the first public display of the physical vehicle.

The "Land Aircraft Carrier" is designed with a minimalist, cyber-mech aesthetic, measuring approximately 5.5 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and 2 meters in height. This sleek vehicle can fit into standard parking spots and underground garages and can be driven with a Class C license.

The flight module features an innovative six-axis, six-propeller dual-ducted fan design, with the body and blades made from carbon fiber for both strength and lightweight performance. The 270°panoramic cockpit provides a wide field of view for the user.

Drive freely, fly freely

How do the ground and air modules separate? XPENG AEROHT independently developed an onboard automatic separation and reconnection mechanism, allowing the ground and air modules to separate and rejoin with a single command. After separation, the six arms and propellers of the air module unfold, enabling low-altitude flight. When the air module lands, the arms and propellers fold back in, and the ground module, using its autonomous driving capabilities and the automatic reconnection mechanism, precisely reunites with the air module.

This breakthrough innovation solves two major challenges of traditional aircraft: difficulty in movement and storage. The ground module not only serves as a mobile platform but also as a storage and energy replenishment station, making it a "Land Aircraft Carrier" that allows users to drive freely and fly freely.

The ground module, known as the "mothership", is equipped with the world's first 800V silicon carbide extended-range powertrain, providing a combined range of over 1000km, easily meeting long-distance travel needs. Additionally, it serves as a "mobile supercharging station", able to provide high-power energy replenishment to the air module while driving or parked, allowing for up to six flights on a full tank of fuel and full battery charge.

To date, XPENG AEROHT has finalized agreements with over 70 flying camps, with plans to extend this network to more than 200 camps by the end of 2024. The goal is to ensure that users in key cities can reach the nearest flying camp within a 30-minute drive, with a maximum travel time of two hours in some locations.

小鹏汇天“陆地航母”登陆广州开发区

9月3日下午，小鹏汇天“陆地航母”飞行汽车超前品鉴会在广州开发区、黄埔区举行。小鹏汇天分体式飞行汽车“陆地航母”实车首次在广州亮相，并进行了公开试飞，演绎未来新物种飞行汽车的应用场景。

据了解，今年7月，广州开发区与小鹏汇天签订投资合作协议，小鹏汇天飞行汽车研发、智能制造及销售中心落地广州开发区，并生产“陆地航母”飞行汽车的飞行体部分。“陆地航母”将于今年11月在全球四大航展之一的“中国（珠海）航展”进行首次公开载人飞行，并将参加11月的广州国际车展，计划于今年年底启动预售。

全球唯一能装下“飞机”的汽车

小鹏汇天是目前亚洲规模最大的飞行汽车公司，是小鹏汽车的生态企业。2023年10月，小鹏汇天首次公布了正在研发的分体式飞行汽车“陆地航母”。本次超前品鉴会上，该产品进行了首次实车展示。

“陆地航母”整体采用极简、凌厉的赛博机甲设计，整车长约5.5米，宽约2米，高约2米，可停入标准停车位，可驶入地库，C照即可陆地驾驶。

飞行体采用六轴六桨双涵道的创新构型，机身主体结构和桨叶采用碳纤维材料，兼顾高强度和轻量化，270°全景座舱可为用户提供开阔的飞行视野。

实现随心移动、自由飞行

飞行汽车如何实现“车机分离”？小鹏汇天自研车载自动分合机构，用户一键操作便可实现陆行体和飞行体的自动分离、结合。分离后，飞行汽车展开飞行体的6副机臂和旋翼，即可开启低空飞行。飞行体落地后，收拢6副机臂和旋翼，通过陆行体的自动驾驶功能和自动分合机构，实现与飞行体的精准对接、结合。

这个突破性的创新，可以解决传统飞机在使用过程“移动难”“储存难”两大痛点问题。陆行体不仅是一个移动平台，也是一个存储、补能平台，是名副其实的“陆地航空母舰”。

据介绍，陆行“母舰”搭载全球首个800V碳化硅增程动力平台，综合续航里程超1000km，满足长途出行需求。陆行“母舰”还是一个“移动超充站”，行驶中、停车时均可以给飞行器进行超大功率补能，满油满电可实现6次飞行。

截至目前，小鹏汇天已经完成超70个飞行营地的合作签约，并计划到年底前完成超200个飞行营地的布局，全国核心城市用户有望在30分钟车程内即可到达就近的飞行营地，个别城市至多两小时可达。
