Banquet of 2024 Shunde Yusheng Festival

On August 16th, 2024, the inaugural banquet of the Shunde Yusheng Festival took place at the Longyuewan Restaurant in Ronggui, Shunde District, Foshan City. The event featured 60 tables of grand feast, with traditional fish lanterns making a vibrant entrance and modern folk music playing melodiously, accompanied by classic Cantonese tunes. Guests dined on Shunde-style fish dishes while enjoying the blend of cultural heritage, music, and cuisine. 

The banquet was not just a feast but a perfect blend of culture and art. The event featured 60 traditional fish lanterns drifting gracefully into the venue, resembling fish swimming in a river, creating a vivid display. The highlight was the ritual of "Fishing", which elevated the atmosphere as guests lifted their chopsticks to enjoy Shunde-style fish dishes, symbolizing their hope and enthusiasm for a better life.

The banquet featured 13 dishes, with the main highlights being the "Feng Sheng Shui Qi " dish, the "Bluefin Tuna with Chilled Abalone ", and "Flavor Eight-Diagram " which is the symbol of this Festival that includes the "Three Flavors Array" of salt, oil, and sauce, the "Three Ingredients Array" of fresh, pickled, and fried ingredients, and the "Drink Array" of alcoholic beverages and drinks. Guests could choose according to their preferences, experiencing the diverse flavors and freshness of Shunde-style fish dishes.

Additionally, the live performance by the Daliang Modern Folk Orchestra added a touch of elegance to the banquet. As familiar tunes filled the venue, guests felt immersed in a sea of music. This harmonious blend of melodies with the delicious fish dishes created a memorable sensory experience.

A Singaporean Chinese professor remarked, "Experiencing fish dishes in Shunde has a strong sense of ceremony, which made me realize how enjoyable eating fish dishes can be."

Luo Zhaobo, Chairman of the Shunde Ronggui Restaurant Association and the Shunde Cuisine Development Promotion Association , stated that looking ahead, the Shunde Yusheng Festival aims to extend beyond the local area and introduce this culinary culture to a broader market. This year, the festival will reach cities such as Foshan Nanhai, Zhuhai, Shanghai, and Beijing, allowing food enthusiasts from across the country to experience the unique flavors of Shunde-style fish dishes. Additionally, the Shunde Yusheng high-quality development brand ceremony will be broadcast globally to the Chinese community, showcasing the distinctive charm of Shunde Yusheng cuisine to the world.

2024顺德鱼生节“风生水起宴”

8月16日,2024顺德鱼生节首秀“风生水起宴”在佛山市顺德区容桂龙悦湾酒家举行。现场60桌盛宴齐开,非遗鱼灯翩跹而入,现代民乐悠扬响起,经典广东旋律绕梁。宾客随乐而起筷,共品顺德鱼生之美,一场融合非遗、音乐与美食的盛宴在此呈现。

本次“风生水起宴”不仅是一场美食的盛宴,更是一次文化与艺术的完美融合。活动现场亮点纷呈,60条非遗鱼灯在黑暗中悠然游入会场,恰似鱼儿游进江河,栩栩如生。而“捞起捞起,风生水起”的仪式更是将现场气氛推向了高潮,食客们共同起筷捞起顺德鱼生,满含着对美好生活的热切憧憬。

据介绍,“风生水起”晚宴菜品共有13道,其中主打菜品是“风生水起”与“蓝鳍金枪鱼拼冰镇鲍鱼”连同今年鱼生节的代表符号“风味八阵图”联动。“风味八阵图”由盐阵、油阵、酱阵的“三味阵”,鲜料阵、腌料阵、炸料阵组成的“三料阵”,再佐以酒阵和饮品阵组成的“饮阵”,食客根据自身喜好搭配,感受顺德鱼生的多样吃法与鲜美口感。

此外,大良现代民乐团的现场演奏也为晚宴增添了一抹高雅的气息。当《彩云追月》《步步高》等熟悉的音符在全场响起时,食客们仿佛置身于一场音乐的海洋之中,与顺德鱼生的美味相得益彰,共同构成了一场难忘的视听盛宴。

新加坡华人D教授表示:“在顺德品尝鱼生极具仪式感,这让我深刻体会到,原来吃鱼生也能带来如此愉悦的体验。”

顺德容桂餐饮行业协会会长、顺德菜发展促进会会长罗兆波表示,展望未来,顺德鱼生节将不仅仅局限于本地,而是计划将这一美食文化推向更广阔的市场。今年顺德鱼生节将走进佛山南海、珠海、上海、北京等城市,让天南地北的食客都能品尝到顺德鱼生的独特美味。同时,顺德鱼生高质量发展品牌盛典也将通过走红毯形式向全球华人直播,让世界了解顺德鱼生美食的独特魅力。
