On August 13th, the Guangzhou Baiyun Loong and Lion Dance Association held an exchange activity with the Cambridge Chinese Community Centre and the Britain-China Business Travel Cultural Exchange Association in Yong Qing Fang, a national intangible cultural heritage ecological demonstration zone of Guangzhou, and decided to set up a Guangzhou Dragon and Lion Cultural Heritage Base in Cambridge Chinese Community Centre. At the exchange site, 17 Chinese British teenagers from Cambridge, England immersed themselves in the charm of the Guangdong lion dance at the Zhaojiashi Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum in Yong Qing Fang.

The 15-year-old Shang Ziren was amazed after watching the lion dance performance at the event. "What a festive sound, the drums are really fun to combine with other instruments. At the Cambridge Chinese Community Centre, we will also see lion dance performances during the Chinese New Year, but I think it is more immersive to watch lion dance performances in its birthplace. "

Although growing up in England, 17-year-old Dudu especially loves Chinese traditional culture. "In the UK, we rarely get the opportunity to hear the drums and gongs of the lion dance. For us, today's activity was like 'opening a new door', which further inspired our love for Chinese cultural heritage. "

Huang Jingtang, executive vice president of Guangzhou Baiyun Loong and Lion Dance Association and a municipal representative inheritor of Guangdong Lion Dance, taught the teenagers skills hand in hand with lion heads. They danced the lion's head and couldn't put it down.

The Guangzhou Baiyun Loong and Lion Dance Association has set up a dragon and lion dance cultural heritage base in the Cambridge Chinese Community Centre, and the Centre has set up a cultural exchange base at the Association to jointly promote competitions, performances, exhibitions, seminars and other activities of "Lion and Dragon Dance", and promote exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou and Cambridge in China's intangible cultural heritage.

"Where there are Chinese, there are lion dances." Sun Wei, chairman of the Cambridge Chinese Community Centre, said that lion and dragon dance has a deep popular base in Britain. The three parties will give full play to their respective resource advantages and work together to promote the inheritance and development of China's intangible cultural heritage lion dance and dragon dance project in the UK.

Zhao Weibin, president of the Guangzhou Baiyun Loong and Lion Dance Association and a provincial representative inheritor of Guangdong Lion Dance, expects that the joint efforts of the three parties will promote the young people of the two places to carry out the study tour of dragon and lion culture and the special training camp of dragon and lion skills, so as to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship among the younger generation.
