Consumption in the GBA recovered in an all-round way, sales of upgraded goods in nine cities in Guangdong grew rapidly, and private consumption in Hong Kong and Macao was strong. Foreign trade overcame the difficulties of weak external demand, maintained overall resilience, and the trade surplus hit a record high. The recovery in economic growth has led to an increase in fiscal and taxation revenue. The fiscal revenue of all cities in the GBA has achieved varying degrees of growth, and the overall fiscal deficit of the GBA has decreased by 1.24 percentage points compared with the previous year. The financial industry has achieved steady development. The balance of deposits and loans has increased year by year since 2018, but the growth rate dropped slightly in 2023.

In addition, with the strengthening economic growth momentum in Hong Kong and Macao, the overall economy of the GBA is expected to achieve the economic growth target of more than 5%.
