Among them, 38 athletes competed in 16 sports, 19 events, and 42 disciplines. The Guangdong team won a total of 16 medals across eight golds, four silvers, and four bronzes, secured by 14 athletes. Notably, 38.5% of the medalists were from the post-2000 generation, marking Guangdong's best performance in Olympic history and leading all provinces and cities in both gold and total medal counts.

In women's hockey, Zhong Jiaqi, as a key forward, helped the Chinese team reach the Olympic final for the first time in 16 years. They fought to a penalty shootout against the four-time champion, the Netherlands, and finished with a silver medal, setting the best result for overseas participation. In golf, Lin Xiyu won bronze in the women's golf competition, matching the best-ever Olympic result for Chinese women's golf.
