Recently, the Paris 2024 Olympics has sparked a strong tourism wave in France and throughout Europe. However, some French tourists are taking advantage of the visa-free policy to visit China. According to Trip.com data, travel bookings from Parisians to the Chinese mainland during the Olympics have increased by 72% year-on-year. Popular destinations for French tourists include Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou.

Trip.com reports that, to date, the number of bookings by Chinese mainland tourists traveling to Paris during the Olympics (July 26th - August 11th) has increased by 114% compared to last year, with hotel bookings in Paris rising by 194%. During the Olympics, mainland tourists' hotel bookings in Europe have increased by 143%, and bookings for private car tours in Europe have grown by 68%, with France, Germany, Italy, and Spain being the most popular destinations.

According to Trip.com, tourism bookings for Saint-Denis, the location of the Olympic and Paralympic Village in northern Paris, and Lille, which will host basketball and handball events, have both increased more than eightfold year-on-year.

During the Olympics, the top ten Chinese mainland cities sending tourists to Paris are Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Suzhou, Chongqing, and Wuhan. By age, 37% are from the post-80s generation, 29% from the post-90s, 21% from the post-70s, and 8% from the post-2000s.

Recent data shows that the most visited French attractions by Chinese tourists in the past three days include the Louvre, Palace of Versailles, Eiffel Tower, Disneyland Paris, Musée d'Orsay, Opéra national de Paris, Seine River cruises, Arc de Triomphe, Seine River, and Centre Pompidou.

July to late August is also the peak holiday season for the French, with the government encouraging locals to take vacations, leaving Paris more open for the Olympics and tourists. According to Trip.com, travel bookings from Parisians to the Chinese mainland during the Olympics have increased by 72% year-on-year.

Popular destinations for French tourists in China include Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu, Wenzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing, Shenzhen, and Kunming.

Emily, a young woman from France, mentioned in an interview that she is among the Parisians "escaping" the Olympic crowds. She recently visited a resort farm in Hanzhong, Shaanxi, and was pleasantly surprised by her experiences. To her, rural life in China is fascinating and definitely worth experiencing.

Data shows that French tourists traveling to China mainly consist of those born in the 1980s, 1990s, 1970s, and 2010s, accounting for 28%, 20%, 16%, and 14% respectively. Regarding booking times, 50% of French tourists planning their "China Travel" two months in advance, and 46% do so 1-2 months ahead.

双向奔赴！中国人赴法“奥运”游，法国人“反向”游中国

近日，巴黎奥运会为法国乃至整个欧洲带来强劲的旅游热潮。与此同时，有部分法国游客将利用来华免签政策便利“反向”来中国旅游。携程数据显示，奥运期间巴黎人入境内地的旅游订单量同比增长72%。上海、北京、广州等地成为法国人的热门目的地。

携程数据显示，截至目前，内地游客在奥运期间（7月26日至8月11日）赴巴黎旅游的订单量同比去年增长114%，预订巴黎酒店订单量同比增长194%。奥运期间，内地游客前往欧洲预订酒店的订单量同比增长143%，欧洲包车游预订量同比去年增长68%，法国、德国、意大利、西班牙为热门包车游目的地。

据携程方面介绍，奥运会及残奥村所在地、巴黎北部卫星城圣但尼，以及承办篮球和手球比赛的北部城市里尔，旅游预订量均同比增长8倍以上。

携程数据显示，奥运期间，内地赴巴黎的十大热门客源城市有上海、北京、深圳、广州、杭州、成都、南京、苏州、重庆、武汉。从年龄上看，80后占比37%，90后占比29%，70后占比21%，00后占比8%。

数据显示，近三天中国游客访问最多的法国景区有卢浮宫、凡尔赛宫、埃菲尔铁塔、巴黎迪士尼乐园、奥赛博物馆、巴黎歌剧院、塞纳河游船、凯旋门、塞纳河、蓬皮杜艺术中心。

记者了解到，7月中旬到8月底也是法国人集中休假的时间，法国政府支持当地人民出去度假，把巴黎的空间留给奥运会和游客。携程数据显示，奥运期间巴黎人入境内地的旅游订单量同比增长72%。

上海、北京、广州、厦门、成都、温州、武汉、南京、深圳、昆明成为法国人反向旅游的热门目的地。

来自法国的姑娘艾美丽在接受采访时表示，自己正是“躲避”奥运会人潮的那拨巴黎人之一，近期她来到陕西汉中佛坪县某度假农庄，收获了很多意外的惊喜。在她看来，中国的乡村生活很新奇，非常值得体验。

数据显示，反向来华旅游的法国游客，主要是80后、90后、70后和10后，分别占比28%、20%、16%和14%。从提前预订时间看，提前两个月计划“ChinaTravel”的法国人占比50%，提前1-2个月做计划的占46%。
