The 33rd Summer Olympic Games, known as the "Paris Olympics," will take place in the capital of France, Paris, from July 26th to August 11th. In recent years, the International Olympic Committee has been creating new sports events. The Tokyo Olympics introduced new sports like skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing. For the Paris Olympics, the new addition is breaking. The Chinese delegation is expected to surprise in these new events.

In May 2024, Shanghai hosted the first stage of the Olympic Qualifier Series, where four emerging urban sports, BMX freestyle, sport climbing, breaking, and skateboarding, were featured together. This garnered significant attention domestically. Looking ahead to the upcoming Paris Olympics, how strong is China's sports delegation expected to be in these four sports?

Speed climbing has become a standalone competition at this year's Olympics. Chinese climbers Wu Peng and Zhou Yafei clinched Olympic berths by finishing first in the qualification rounds. This also makes men's and women's speed climbing as China's most promising events for contending for medals.

Wu Peng is a top contender for the gold medal representing China in men's speed climbing. Currently ranked first globally, he set an Asian record of 4.86 seconds at the World Cup in Wujiang this April. On the women's side, China's Deng Lijuan and Zhou Yafei also display strong capabilities. Deng Lijuan, a former Asian record holder, secured a silver medal for China at the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games. Zhou Yafei clinched her Olympic berth at the Budapest stage of the Paris Olympic Qualifier Series this year, making her a formidable contender for a medal in women's speed climbing.

Additionally, the skateboarding team from China has made significant progress during the Paris Olympics cycle, with a new generation of talented newcomers emerging.

Like traditional skateboarding powerhouses such as Japan, the United States, and Australia, China sent a skateboarding team including Zeng Wenhui, Cui Chenxi, and Zhu Yuanling, securing full participation spots in the event. Notably, Cui has shown rapid growth over the past three years. Despite being the youngest in the Chinese delegation at last year's Asian Games, Cui Chenxi, born in 2009, won the championship. Zhu Yuanling, born in 2011, also demonstrated impressive skill and talent over the past two years.

There is also a pleasant surprise in the women's skateboarding park event. According to the rules, each national or regional skateboarding association can only send a maximum of three individual entries. Guangdong athlete Zheng Haohao, born in 2012, earned her qualification for the Paris Olympics in the women's park skateboarding through accumulated points.

China's team has become internationally competitive in the women's BMX freestyle, with athletes Sun Jiaqi and Deng Yawen securing full participation spots for the Olympics.

In the event of breaking, China's team for the Paris Olympics includes Qi Xiangyu, Liu Qingyi, and Zeng Yingying. Among them, Liu Qingyi stands out as the strongest contender for a gold medal in the women's category. In 2022, Liu won silver at the World Breaking Championship, marking the first time a Chinese breaking team earned a medal at the World Championships. In 2023, Liu secured her spot in the Paris Olympics by defeating a Japanese competitor in the women's breaking final at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

第33届夏季奥林匹克运动会（以下简称“巴黎奥运会”）将于7月26日至8月11日在法国首都巴黎举行。近年来，国际奥委会不断对比赛项目进行革新，东京奥运会新增了滑板、攀岩、冲浪等新兴项目，巴黎奥运会又新增了霹雳舞项目，中国队本次或有望在这些新兴项目上制造惊喜。
今年5月，在上海举办的奥运系列资格赛首站将自由式小轮车、攀岩、霹雳舞、滑板四个新兴城市项目汇集在一起，一度在国内引发极大关注。展望即将到来的巴黎奥运会，中国体育代表团在这四个项目上实力如何？
在攀岩项目中，本届巴黎奥运会速度攀岩成为一个单独的比赛项目。中国攀岩队选手伍鹏、周娅菲均以资格赛总成绩第一拿到奥运入场券，这也使得男、女速度攀岩成为中国队最有望争夺奖牌的项目。
男子速度攀岩项目上，中国队的伍鹏是重点冲金选手，他目前排名世界第一，今年4月在世界杯吴江站比赛中以4秒86打破了亚洲纪录。女子方面，中国队邓丽娟和周娅菲同样实力不俗。邓丽娟是曾经的亚洲纪录创造者，她在2023年杭州亚运会上为中国队赢得一枚银牌。周娅菲则在今年巴黎奥运会资格系列赛布达佩斯站锁定奥运资格，成为女子速度攀岩奥运奖牌的有力竞争者。
此外，中国滑板项目在巴黎奥运周期内已经取得大幅进步，涌现出一批“后起之秀”。
在女子街式项目上，中国滑板队派出曾文蕙、崔宸曦、朱沅铃参赛，和日本、美国、澳大利亚等传统滑板强国一样，拿到了该项目“满额”参赛资格。其中，崔宸曦在过去三年内快速成长。去年亚运会时，2009年出生的崔宸曦作为中国体育代表团年龄最小的运动员获得了冠军。2011年出生的朱沅铃也在这两年展现出不错的实力和天赋。
女子碗池项目也有一定的惊喜。根据竞赛规则，在每个国家/地区协会的滑板选手最多只有三个单项名额，2012年出生的广东选手郑好好凭借积分累计获得了巴黎奥运会滑板女子碗池参赛资格。
在自由式小轮车项目上，中国女子自由式小轮车队在国际初具竞争力，实现奥运满额参赛（孙佳琪、邓雅文）。
霹雳舞方面，中国队派出亓祥宇、刘清漪、曾莹莹三人出战巴黎奥运会。其中，最具冲金希望的当属女子组选手刘清漪。2022年，刘清漪在霹雳舞世锦赛中获得亚军，这是中国霹雳舞队第一次获得世锦赛奖牌；2023年，刘清漪在杭州亚运会霹雳舞女子组决赛中击败日本选手顺利夺冠，就此获得巴黎奥运会参赛资格。
