On February 29th, Baiyun International Conference Center presented an elegant and exquisite new Chinese-style wedding salon, marking the completion of the new landmark for weddings in Baiyun New City of Guangzhou.
In early 2021, the municipal government of Guangzhou first proposed the concept of the "Sweet Economy" in its work report. Subsequently, various departments of Guangzhou prioritized wedding tourism, delving into local wedding tourism resources, promoting a series of cultural and tourism activities related to weddings, and exploring innovative models for the development of "wedding plus tourism".
Situated at the western foot of Baiyun Mountain, the venue for this wedding salon, Baiyun International Conference Center, is designed by a team led by Academician He Jingtang. With a design concept inspired by the Baiyun Mountain and Lingnan culture, the Conference Center integrates the features of traditional Lingnan architecture such as overhanging eaves, sunshades, and courtyards with modern techniques. The picturesque scenery of Baiyun Mountain is ingeniously incorporated into the design, making it the latest international first-class conference complex in Guangzhou.
The sky terrace on the fifth floor, boasting panoramic views of Baiyun Mountain, aligns with the Conference Center's architectural aesthetics. Drawing upon traditional Chinese mortise and tenon structures to design garden installations, the terrace centers around the sunken courtyard landscape of "Four Waters Returning to the Hall".(A traditional Chinese architectural layout where rainwater from the roof converges into a central courtyard, symbolizing unity and harmony.) Here, the flowing water scenes are elegantly presented beneath the eaves, adorned with striking green glazed tiles, making it an exceptional choice for hosting outdoor weddings.
The Conference Center offers over 30 multifunctional spaces customizable for wedding banquets, catering to diverse needs. Additionally, it provides exclusive wedding steward teams, professional banquet teams and star-rated chef teams to tailor wedding banquets.
A highlight of the Conference Center is its fusion of art and Lingnan culture, where visitors can admire exquisite artworks by renowned artists such as celadon, traditional Chinese paintings, and embroidery. In various forms, it presents the cultural and artistic treasures of Lingnan, contributing significantly to the high-quality development of the Sweet Economy in Guangzhou.
Industry insiders point out that the trend of outbound wedding tourism, primarily to destinations in Southeast Asian islands, Europe, and America, has started to shift back to domestic destinations in recent years. Guangzhou, with its abundant sweet resources, emergesas a popular wedding destination, demonstrating the strong momentum of the innovative development model of "wedding plus tourism".
