BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant, announced on its official WeChat account on February 24th that ithassuccessfully delivered the first batch of BYD ATTO 3 models to Hungarian buyers on February 23rd. This marks a significant milestone for BYD as it "successfully opens a new chapter in the Central and Eastern European market."
With a history of thirty years, BYD has deep roots in Guangdong, China's largest province for automobile production and consumption. In 2023, BYD achieved remarkable sales of over 3.02 million units of new energy vehicles, a year-on-year growth of more than 60%. It has consistently secured the top position in global new energy vehicle sales, creating a miracle in the world's automotive industry.
Since entering the Hungary market in October 2023, BYD has rapidly expanded and developed its passenger vehicle business. Currently, BYD has established three stores in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, and plans to continue expanding its sales and service network. It is expected to have six stores by the end of 2024.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recently praised BYD in a post, stating that BYD, as the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, will establish its first European passenger car factory in Hungary.
Located in the heart of continental Europe, Hungary boasts a long history of automotive industry development, along with advanced infrastructure and a mature industrial foundation. According to previous reports, in December last year, BYD announced its plan to build a new energy vehicle production base for complete vehicles inSzékesfehérvár,Hungary, making it BYD's first passenger car plant in Europe.
The factory, used to produce both batteries and complete vehicles, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be put into operation by 2025. It will also create thousands of job opportunities for the local workforce. Currently, the ATTO 3, Dolphin, and Sea Lion models made their debut in Hungary in October last year. Hungary is BYD's first entry into the Central and Eastern European market.

比亚迪成立三十年,扎根于中国汽车生产和消费第一大省——广东。2023年,比亚迪销售新能源汽车突破302万台,同比增长了超过60%,蝉联全球新能源汽车销量第一,创造了世界汽车工业发展奇迹。
自2023年10月进入匈牙利以来,比亚迪乘用车业务在当地实现了快速布局与发展。目前,比亚迪已在首都布达佩斯设立了三家门店,并计划持续拓展销售和服务网络,预计到2024年底将增至6家门店。
匈牙利总理欧尔班近日发文点赞比亚迪,称世界上最大的电动车制造商比亚迪,将在匈牙利建立第一家欧洲汽车厂(乘用车)。
匈牙利位于欧洲大陆的心脏地带,汽车工业发展历史悠久,拥有发达的基础设施和成熟的产业基础。据此前报道,去年12月份比亚迪表示,将在匈牙利赛格德市建设一个新能源汽车整车生产基地,这也是比亚迪在欧洲的第一家乘用车整车工厂。
该工厂已经开建,预计2025年建成投产,生产电池与汽车整车,并为当地带来数千个工作岗位。目前,ATTO 3、海豚、海豹三款车型已经于去年10月在匈牙利完成首秀,匈牙利是比亚迪进入的第一个中东欧市场。
