Guangdong's tourism revenue reached 69.36b RMB, hitting record high during 2024 Chinese New Year

The 2024 Spring Festival holiday saw a record high in Guangdong's cultural and tourism market. According to the data released by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province on February 17, during the eight-day holiday this year (February 10 to February 17), the province received a total of 76.069 million tourists, an increase of 68.4% compared to the holiday in 2023 (from New Year's Eve to the sixth day of the lunar new year), and a 20.2% increase compared to that of 2019 (same period as 2023). Besides, the tourism revenue reached 69.36 billion RMB, up by 160.8% compared to the holiday in 2023 and 40.2% higher than that of  2019.

During the 2024 Spring Festival holiday, following the theme of“Celebrate Chinese New Year in Guangdong",the System of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province organized a variety of cultural and tourism activities, showcasing the charm of intangible cultural heritage in Lingnan area, so as to increase the supply of diverse high-quality cultural and tourism products, and boost holiday consumption. The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province mobilized more than 260 A-level tourist attractions, as well as tourist resorts and tourist leisure blocks at or above the provincial level, to launch more than 500 various Chinese New Year celebration activities, presenting local Spring Festival customs and creating new tourism and leisure scenes and formats. The Department launched six sections and 20 major activities of the "Celebrate Chinese New Year in Guangdong"spring tourism series, including the 2024 Youth Music Culture The Greater Bay Area, and the national main venue event of the dragon dance parade. The Department guided various regions in organizing over a hundred key cultural and tourism events such as Spring Festival folk customs, literary and art performances, and intangible cultural heritage experiences.

According to the data, during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday in 2024, the 150 key tourist attractions monitored in Guangdong received a total of 19.368 million tourists, marking a 41.3% increase compared to the holiday in 2023, and an 18.5% increase compared to the holiday in 2019.

2024年春节假期广东文旅市场创新高!旅游收入693.6亿元

2024年春节假期结束,广东文旅市场创新高。广东省文化和旅游厅2月17日发布的数据显示,据初步测算,2024年春节假期八天(2月10日至2月17日,初一至初八),全省共接待游客7606.9万人次,较2023年春节(除夕至初六)增长68.4%,较2019年春节(除夕至初六)增长20.2%;实现旅游收入693.6亿元,较2023年春节(除夕至初六)增长160.8%,较2019年春节(除夕至初六)增长40.2%。

2024年春节假期,广东文化和旅游系统紧扣“请到广东过大年”主题,持续组织开展形式多样、内涵丰富的文旅活动,展现岭南非遗魅力,丰富优质文旅产品供给,激发假期消费活力。广东省文化和旅游厅发动260多家A级旅游景区、省级以上旅游度假区、省级以上旅游休闲街区等推出各类迎新春活动500多项,展示各地春节习俗,打造旅游休闲新场景新业态;推出“文化迎春艺术为民”等6个板块、20大项的“请到广东过大年”春节文旅系列活动,包括2024粤港澳大湾区(广东)国际青年音乐周、“舞动中国龙”——龙舞大巡游全国主会场活动等;指导各地策划开展春节民俗、文艺演出、非遗体验等超过百项重点文旅特色活动。

据初步测算,2024年春节假期八天(2月10日至2月17日,初一至初八),广东纳入监测的150家重点景区共接待游客1936.8万人次,较2023年春节假期(除夕至初六)增长41.3%,较2019年春节假期(除夕至初六)增长18.5%。
