According to the China Geological Survey under the Ministry of Natural Resources, on December 18th, the world's most advanced and China's first independently developed ocean drilling ship was officially named the "Mengxiang (Dream)." It is set to embark on its inaugural trial voyage in Nansha, Guangzhou, in the coming days, marking a significant milestone in China’s deep-sea exploration capabilities.

Possessing the deepest drilling depth in the world, the ship has the world's largest shipboard laboratory with more than 3,000 square meters, including nine major laboratories covering marine science, microbiology, and paleomagnetism. It integrates key technologies such as digital twinning to achieve comprehensive monitoring of drilling and mining operations and intelligent collaboration in scientific experiments.

According to the plan, the ship will undergo final preparations at the dock and set sail on December 22nd to fulfill its maiden voyage mission.

全球最先进大洋钻探船命名为“梦想”号！将在广州南沙首次试航

根据自然资源部中国地质调查局的消息，12月18日，全球最先进，也是我国首艘自主研制的大洋钻探船正式命名为“梦想”号，并将于近日在广州南沙开启首次试航，这也标志着我国深海探测能力建设迈出重要一步。

作为全球最先进的大洋钻探船，“梦想”号不仅钻探深度是世界最深，还建有全球面积最大、功能最全的船载实验室，总面积超300平方米，涵盖海洋科学、微生物、古地磁等九大实验室，采用数字孪生等关键技术，可实现钻采作业全过程监测、科学实验智能协同。

按计划，“梦想”号还将在码头完成相关准备工作，于12月22日启航，完成首次试航任务。
