The Third Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Health Cooperation Conference's High-Quality Development Forum for Acupuncture was held in Guangzhou on the afternoon of November 11. According to reports from the event, acupuncture, as an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has now extended its reach to 196 countries and regions worldwide, emerging as a representative of outstanding traditional culture on the global stage.

The GBA boasts unique advantages and abundant resources in the field of TCM. As the regions further integrate, acupuncture has made significant strides in clinical services, specialty development, talent cultivation, public education, intelligent diagnosis and treatment, and distinctive needling techniques.

Xu Nenggui, renowned Qi-Huang Scholar, Chief Scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), and Honorary Dean of Guangzhou Acupuncture Hospital, emphasized, "The Greater Bay Area serves as an excellent 'window' for internationalizing acupuncture." He pointed out that the cultural heritage of TCM in the Greater Bay Area runs deep, with high public recognition of acupuncture. Hong Kong and Macao can serve as platforms to showcase acupuncture, promoting global acceptance of acupuncture therapy.

To promote the high-quality development of acupuncture in the Greater Bay Area, Xu Nenggui proposed efforts to preserve and promote acupuncture culture, refine the acupuncture education system, enhance acupuncture research and innovation, as well as elevate clinical proficiency. He believes that modern technology will play a crucial role in the future development of acupuncture, stating, "The promotion of traditional acupuncture will be greatly enhanced through utilizing artificial intelligence to produce acupuncture products for the benefit of the people, increasing the efficiency and frequency of acupuncture therapy, enhancing evidence-based practices, and improving the overall clinical experience."

"As a part of traditional medicine, acupuncture has entered 196 countries and regions worldwide, representing outstanding traditional culture on the global stage," said Jing Xianghong, Director of the Research Institute of Acupuncture and Meridian at the CACMS and Secretary-General of the China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion. Over the past decade, the widespread application of acupuncture has led to large-scale clinical research internationally, yielding a series of high-quality results. Research indicates that acupuncture has proven effective for various conditions such as migraines and persistent constipation, highlighting the captivating efficacy of acupuncture.

中国针灸已走进196个国家与地区

11月11日下午，第三届粤港澳大湾区卫生健康合作大会针灸高质量发展论坛在广州举办。记者在会上获悉，针灸作为中医的一部分，已经走进了全世界196个国家与地区，成为了优秀传统文化走向世界的代表。

粤港澳大湾区在中医药领域有着得天独厚的优势和丰富的资源，随着粤港澳大湾区进一步融合，针灸医学在临床服务、专科建设、人才培养、社会科普、智慧诊疗、特色针法等多方面也获得了长足的进步。

“让针灸走向国际化，大湾区是一个很好的‘窗口’。” 岐黄学者、国家973计划项目首席科学家、广州市针灸医院名誉院长许能贵介绍，粤港澳大湾区中医药文化底蕴深厚，群众对针灸的认可度很高。香港、澳门可以成为针灸医术的展示平台，让全世界更加认可针灸疗法。

针灸如何在粤港澳大湾区高质量发展？许能贵建议，应从传承和弘扬针灸文化、完善针灸教育体系、加强针灸科研创新、提升针灸临床水平等多个方面努力。他认为，未来针灸的发展中现代科技将发挥重要的作用：“利用人工智能技术生产造福百姓的针灸产品，提高针灸疗法的使用效率和频率，提高循证效率、改善针灸临床体验，将对弘扬传统针灸疗法有很大的帮助。”

“针灸作为传统医学的一部分，已经走进了全世界196个国家与地区，成为了优秀传统文化走向世界的代表。”中医科学院经络研究所所长、中国针灸学会秘书长景向红表示，近十多年来，随着针灸的广泛应用，国际上开展了大规模的临床研究，产出了一系列高质量成果。研究表明，针灸对于偏头痛、顽固性便秘等多种疾病有很好的疗效，充分证明了针灸的魅力。
