On November 8th, the 2023 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held in Guangzhou. Following last year's inaugural investment promotion conference, the GBA has once again sent a strong signal to global investors.

On November 7th, the day before the promotion conference, the Guangdong-US Clean Technology Industry Matchmaking Conference was held, attracting investors for the vast consumer market, thriving emerging industries, favorable business environment, and the burst of creativity in the GBA.

"I got to Guangzhou by plane the day before yesterday, and I saw quite a lot of new energy vehicles on my way from the airport to the hotel. What surprised me most were the high-tech electric heavy dump trucks I saw, which informed me of the fact that the GBA, and China as a whole, is at the forefront of new energy development in terms of depth and breadth." At the Industry Matchmaking Conference, Liu Xin, Director of the Asia Business Development of Cormetech, expressed admiration for the prospects of GBA's new energy industries.

He visited Guangdong this time with the purpose of finding a partner, with whom they can further promote the new energy technology.

Quite a number of US-funded enterprises like Cormetech are expecting to invest in and cooperate with the GBA. At the Matchmaking Conference, 16 US-funded enterprises and institutions exchanged ideas on carbon neutrality, clean energy, new materials, energy storage, new energy and intelligent transportation, circular economy and environmental technology, zero-carbon building and other businesses.

Watt EV from California, the United States, was eager to cooperate in zero-emission transportation and electric truck charging facilities. According to personnel from Watt EV, they are now cooperating with a local Chinese enterprise to develop charging infrastructure. "We are cooperating with Shenzhen Ruisu, and BYD produces electric trucks for us. Based in California, a city that cooperates deeply with China, our company hopes to achieve zero-emission transportation in all ports. The Chinese government has provided billions of encouraging funds for us to establish joint ventures for infrastructure design and to bring technology to the United States."

With regard to this cooperation, Dr. Feng An, President of the US-China Cleantech Center, mentioned in his speech that there were 16 clean technology companies from the US participating in the conference, covering multiple areas such as carbon neutrality, carbon capture, clean energy, etc. "US companies are highly creative and rich in product diversity and solutions in all aspects, which will assist China in realizing its goal of decarbonization in the low-carbon market." said Dr. Feng An.

He also said that, as a model of opening up and international cooperation in China, Guangdong plays a leading role in zero-carbon and clean technology development. At the same time, he hopes to find partners, establish connections and seek new business opportunities for Chinese enterprises in the GBA.

中美企业共寻绿色商机

11月8日，2023年粤港澳大湾区全球招商大会广州举行，这也是继去年大湾区首开全球性招商大会之后，大湾区再次向全球投资者发出强烈信号。

在招商大会正式拉开帷幕的前一日，11月7日，广东—北美清洁技术产业对接会举行。投资大湾区、投资未来。他们看中的，正是大湾区庞大的消费市场、蓬勃发展的新兴产业、优渥的营商环境以及创新迸发的活力。

“我前天坐飞机到广州的时候，从机场到酒店的路上看到了很多新能源车。让我最惊奇的是，还看到了很高技术含量的全电动重型泥头车，这充分说明了粤港澳大湾区乃至全国在新能源领域发展的深度和广度都走在了世界前列。”在广东-北美清洁技术产业对接会上，康美泰克公司亚太业务总监刘昕对大湾区新能源产业的应用前景表达了赞赏。

此次前来广东，他希望能在此找到合作方，一起做好新能源这项新技术的推广应用。

与康美泰克一样怀揣着投资与合作期望的美资企业不在少数。在对接会上，16家美资企业机构围绕碳中和、清洁能源、新材料、储能、新能源与智能交通、循环经济与环境科技、零碳建筑等业务进行交流。

来自美国加州的瓦特电动汽车(Watt　EV)关注零排放交通、电动卡车充电设施等方面的合作。其相关负责人在会上表示，目前公司和中国本土企业合作发展充电基础设施，“我们和深圳锐速智能科技合作，比亚迪为我们生产电动货车。我们公司总部位于加州，加州和中国的合作非常紧密，希望能够在所有港口实现零排放的交通。政府提供了很多刺激基金鼓励我们建立合资企业打造基础设施设计，以及把技术引进到美国，政府在这方面投入了数以亿计的美元”。

针对这次开展的合作，美中清洁技术中心总裁安锋博士致辞表示，本次组织了16家美国清洁技术企业，覆盖了多个领域，包括碳中和、碳捕获、清洁能源、环保技术、新能源汽车及充电设施、能源效率与储能技术、绿色智能建筑、清洁燃料等，“美国企业在各方面都拥有高度创新和产品多样性和解决方案，这些创新都将为中国低碳市场发展实现脱碳目标产生积极影响”。

安锋表示，广东省是中国对外开放及国际合作的典范地区，在零碳发展和清洁技术方面极为领先。同时，他也希望在粤港澳大湾区为中国企业发掘合作伙伴、建立联系以及寻找新的商机。
