The release of the "2023 China Fortune 500 Enterprises" at the 2023 World Manufacturing Convention has shed a spotlight on Guangdong, a province with a remarkable 56 companies making the prestigious list. Huawei, the tech giant, has clinched the top spot for R&D investment and R&D intensity among the Fortune 500 companies. Furthermore, the fifth batch of "little giant companies" - innovative small and medium-sized enterprises or SMEs, has been unveiled, with an astounding 658 enterprises based in Guangdong, setting a new record and surpassing Zhejiang to secure the top spot in numbers.

Manufacturing remains the cornerstone of Guangdong's industrial landscape, serving as the key driver for the province's high-quality development. How are Guangdong entrepreneurs contributing to the growth of manufacturing in Guangdong? Peng Peng, Executive Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Reform and Development Research Association and President of the Guangzhou Doctoral Science and Technology Innovation Research Association, shared insights with reporters. Looking beyond the province's borders, the manufacturing industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area boasts a comprehensive industrial structure. The focus now shifts towards global integration, particularly strengthening supply chains and supplementing their gaps.

As this year marks the tenth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, Guangdong businesses are making tangible contributions to the economic and social development of the countries involved. Notably, Guangdong Evergreen Conglomerate has established the largest fishery industry park in Egypt, and even the Middle East region, aiding Egypt in building its aquaculture industry from the ground up. Meanwhile, Guangdong Foreign Construction is undertaking a vital water conservancy project in Cambodia, effectively alleviating local agricultural water supply issues.

These are just a few examples among many. Data reveals that from 2013 to 2022, Guangdong's annual imports and exports with "Belt and Road" countries grew from about one trillion yuan to two trillion yuan, with an average annual growth rate exceeding 8%. Over the past decade, the cumulative trade volume reached about 16 trillion yuan, of which exports accounted for around ten trillion yuan, and imports about six trillion yuan.

Over the last decade, Guangdong companies have made steady strides in their overseas endeavors. Actual annual investment in "Belt and Road" countries by Guangdong enterprises has increased from 380 million dollars to 420 million dollars. Nearly 1,500 overseas entities have been established during this period. On the flip side, investments from countries along the Belt and Road into Guangdong have seen a steady rise, with annual foreign investment increasing from 4.7 billion yuan to 6.6 billion yuan. The total number of projects launched by these countries in Guangdong now exceeds 9,600.

“2023中国企业500强”在2023世界制造业大会论坛活动上发布，广东入围企业数量达到56家，华为更是夺得500强企业研发投入、研发强度第一名；今年第五批专精特新“小巨人”企业已经公示，广东入围企业658家，入围数量再创新高，“小巨人”企业总量超过浙江成为榜首……

制造业是广东产业的鲜明底色，也是广东推进高质量发展的关键所在。粤商如何助力广东制造业高质量发展？广东省体制改革研究会执行会长、广州市博士科技创新研究会会长彭澎告诉记者，放眼全国，当前，粤港澳大湾区的制造业产业结构较齐全，未来要更注重与世界市场融合，尤其要注重强链补链、完善供应链。

今年是“一带一路”倡议提出十周年，粤商正为共建“一带一路”国家的经济社会发展带来实实在在的好处。其中，广东恒兴集团有限公司为埃及建成了当地乃至中东地区最大的渔业产业园，协助埃及从无到有建起水产产业链；广东建工对外建设有限公司在柬埔寨承建水利项目，有效缓解了当地农业生产的水源问题……

这样的事例不胜枚举。数据显示，2013年至2022年，广东与共建“一带一路”国家的年进出口额从约1万亿元增长到2万亿元人民币，年均增长超8%，这十年累计进出口约16万亿元，其中出口约10万亿元、进口约6万亿元。

据介绍，十年来，粤企“走出去”增势平稳，对共建“一带一路”国家年实际投资额从3.8亿美元增长到4.2亿美元，累计新设立境外企业（机构）近1500家；共建“一带一路”国家来粤投资稳步攀升，年外商投资额从47亿元增长到66亿元，累计在广东设立项目超过9600个。
