On September 22nd, the 2023 World Guangdong Entrepreneurs Convention kicked off in Guangzhou to seek shared development with innovation. Participants come from different sectors, including well-known Guangdong entrepreneurs based at home and abroad; representatives of industrial and commercial associations, foreign consular officials in Guangzhou, Fortune Global 500 companies, China's Top 500 companies, China's State-owned and province-owned enterprises; and also representatives of renowned experts and scholars, financial institutions, and think tanks.

It was learned from the opening ceremony of the 2023 World Guangdong Entrepreneurs Convention that in 2022, the added value of Guangdong's private economy reached 6.98 trillion yuan, accounting for over 50% of Guangdong's GDP, contributing around 60% of the tax revenue, over 70% of the technological innovation achievements, over 80% of the new employment, and over 90% of the total number of enterprises.

From the Maritime Silk Road opened in the Qin and Han dynasties (221 BC to 220 AD) to Guangzhou's Thirteen Hongs as the main force in international trade in the modern era, Guangdong's entrepreneurs have been striving for thousands of years to fight for their business and made it increasingly prosperous. Today, a large number of entrepreneurs from overseas areas and the other provinces investors are also an important part of modern Guangdong entrepreneurs.

"Our ancestors created brilliant achievements and left the precious spirit of 'daring to be the first in the world'. In the face of new opportunities, I call on more entrepreneurs to know more and invest in the Greater Bay Area together as a new starting point to strive for the future," said Adrian Cheng, chief executive officer of Hong Kong New World Development Company Limited and founder and chairman of K11 Group.

Courage: Vow to "build a new Guangdong"

From "Zhujiang water, grain, clothes and appliances made in Guangdong" to automobiles, industrial robots, drones and 5G mobile phones, Guangdong has developed into China's largest industrial province and an important global manufacturing base with its evolution.

In 2022, the total output value of Guangdong's manufacturing industry exceeded 16 trillion yuan, with an added value of 4.4 trillion yuan, accounting for one-eighth of the national total. According to the latest release by the Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises Association, 22 Guangdong companies made it to the list of the top 200 manufacturing companies in China in 2023.

In the list of 2023 China's top 500 private enterprises, 50 Guangdong-based companies, including Tencent, Vanke, BYD, Midea Group, SF Express, Luxshare Precision, Gree, and TCL Technology Group made the list.

According to Grace Wang, Chairman and general manager of Luxshare Precision, entrepreneurs should start with the ambition to"build a new Guangdong" to seize the opportunity in Greater Bay Area with innovation.

Excellence: Foreign trade = ranked first in China for 37 consecutive years

As a powerful province in foreign trade, Guangdong has ranked first in terms of foreign trade volume for 37 consecutive years. In 2022, the total import and export value reached 8.31 trillion yuan, accounting for 19.8% of the national total, reaching a new historical high.

The international "friends circle" continues to expand. In 2022, Guangdong's exports and imports to ASEAN, the United States, the European Union, and Chinese Taiwan increased by 9.1%, 5.4%, 4.6%, and 1.6% respectively. In addition, exports and imports to countries along the Belt and Road, Latin American countries, and other BRICS countries increased by 10.3%, 9.5%, and 9.3%, respectively.

记者从2023世界粤商大会开幕大会上获悉，2022年，广东省民营经济增加值6.98万亿元，占GDP比重超过50%，贡献60％左右的税收、70％以上的技术创新成果、80％以上的新增就业、90％以上的企业数量。

从秦汉时期开拓“海上丝绸之路”，到近代广州“十三行”成为与世界通商的主力，广东籍商帮接续奋斗上千年，事业越发光大。如今，大量省外和海外来粤投资经商的企业家们也是现代粤商的重要组成部分。

“我们的先辈创造过辉煌的成绩，留下了‘敢为天下先’的宝贵精神。在新的历史机遇面前，我呼吁更多企业家一起走进大湾区、了解大湾区、投资大湾区，踏上新起点，奋斗创未来。”香港新世界集团行政总裁、K11集团创办人及主席郑志刚表示。

勇气：誓言“再造一个新广东”

从“珠江水、广东粮、岭南衣、粤家电”，到向汽车、工业机器人、无人机、5G手机等不断升级，广东已发展成为全国工业第一大省和全球重要制造业基地。

2022年，广东制造业总产值突破16万亿元，全部制造业增加值4.4万亿元，占全国的八分之一。中国制造企业协会最新发布的2023年中国制造业综合实力200强，广东有22家企业上榜。

而在2023年中国民营企业500强榜单中，腾讯、万科、比亚迪、美的集团、顺丰、立讯精密、格力、TCL科技集团等50家粤企上榜。

立讯精密工业股份有限公司董事长、总经理王来春在大会发言时呼吁，广大企业家要以“再造一个新广东”的闯劲干劲拼劲再出发，充分激发创新的活力，抢抓粤港澳大湾区建设机遇。

豪气：外贸规模连续37年居全国第一

作为外贸大省，广东外贸规模已连续37年居全国第一，2022年进出口总值8.31万亿元，占全国进出口总值的19.8%，再创历史新高。

国际“朋友圈”继续扩围。2022年，广东对东盟、美国、欧盟和中国台湾进出口分别增长9.1%、5.4%、4.6%和1.6%。此外，对共建“一带一路”国家增长10.3%、拉丁美洲国家增长9.5%、其他金砖四国增长9.3%。
