At 2023 Greater Bay Area Science Forum in Nansha, Guangzhou, Daniel M. Kammen, a coordinating lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, and a Professor of Energy at the University of California, Berkeley, said to the media that as China pushes further into the green energy transition, it will be possible to meet the 2060 goal of being a carbon neutral economy years early.
