The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province recently released information on Guangdong's cultural and tourism market during the 2023 May Day holiday, which is stable and orderly in various regions.
150 attractions received 2.206 million visitors
According to preliminary estimates, on April 29th, the first day of the May Day holiday in 2023, 150 key attractions monitored by the province received a total of 2.206 million tourists with a year-on-year increase of 80.1% and an increase of 5.9% compared with the holiday in 2019. To be more specific, 14 key ancient post roads, i.e., 459,000 visitors, 69.6% and 5.9%; 13 classic red tourism attractions, i.e., 227,000 visitors, 83.1% and 8.2%.
At the same time, AAAA National Tourist Attractions and above in Guangdong received 2.904 million visitors with a YoY increase of 75.5%; 71 rural tourism attractions and ancient villages, i.e., 266,000 visitors and 47.5%; 75 key cultural facilities, i.e., 151,000 visitors and 43.2%.
Culture and tourism events blossom in Guangdong
With supporting policies to promote culture and tourism such as "Guangdong distributes 100-million-yuan gift to recover of culture and tourism", more and more people choose to visit Guangdong during the May Day holiday.
The provincial culture and tourism departments organized performances with professional art troupes during the May Day holiday, offering tourists a wonderful artistic journey in Ketianxia Guangzhou International Tourist Resort, Star Lake Scenic Area in Zhaoqing, Foshan Zumiao Museum and other famous attractions.
On April 29th, shows such as Princess Wencheng, Rita and Parasite played in the Guangzhou Opera House were warmly welcomed by over 2,500 audiences on site.
Supported by the Zhuhai government, Changqin International Music Island held a music festival with top stagecraft and famous guests, becoming one of the hottest tourist attractions during this holiday.
Zhongshan government also launched 8 high-quality tourism routes, distributing attraction tickets and local cultural products of over one million yuan to visitors through WeChat public accounts.
The Shantou government held nonprofit performances at the Stage of Laoma Palace and organized cultural activities at the Zhongshan Hall of the Small Park, which attracted many tourists to visit.
What's more, the Shaoguan government planned 115 cultural, tourism and sports activities to boost consumption.

150家景区接待游客220.6万人次
据初步测算,2023年“五一”假期首日(4月29日),全省纳入监测的150家重点景区共接待游客220.6万人次,同比增长80.1%,较2019年增长5.9%(按可比口径,下同);
全省4A及以上景区接待游客290.4万人次,同比增长75.5%;
纳入监测的14段古驿道重点区域共接待游客45.9万人次,同比增长69.6%,较2019年增长5.9%;
纳入监测的13家红色旅游经典景区共接待游客22.7万人次,同比增长83.1%,较2019年增长8.2%;
纳入监测的71个乡村旅游点和历史古村落接待26.6万人次,同比增长47.5%;
纳入监测的75个重点公共文化机构接待15.1万人次,同比增长43.2%。
全省各地文旅活动精彩纷呈
随着“推进文旅复苏、广东发放1亿元大礼包”等文化旅游惠民措施的宣传推广,“五一”假期广东游的热度持续升温。
省文化和旅游系统组织专业艺术院团开展文艺院团进景区演出活动,“五一”假期期间分别亮相广州客天下国际旅游度假区、佛山市祖庙博物馆、江门市华侨城古劳水乡景区、肇庆市星湖旅游景区、清远市熹乐谷温泉度假区等旅游景区,为游客献上精彩的艺术大餐。
广州市“五一”假期首日在剧院上演的《文成公主》《赛龙夺锦》《寄生虫》《丽塔》《再见灰姑娘》等剧目受到观众热捧,现场观看人数超2500人。
珠海市重磅打造的长琴国际音乐岛在“五一”期间举办音乐季活动,邀请豪华嘉宾阵容配合顶级线下舞美,成为今年“五一”期间最火爆的旅游产品之一。
中山市推出8条精品旅游线路,通过微信公众号向市民游客派发总值超过一百万元的旅游景区门票和中山文创产品。
汕头市在老妈宫戏台开展惠民演出,在小公园中山厅举办文艺活动,吸引市民游客前往观看。
韶关市“五一”假期期间精心谋划了115场文旅体活动,全力拉动文旅体市场消费。
