The ​133rd Canton Fair kicks off with record-breaking exhibition scale

The 133rd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, and the 2nd Pearl River International Trade Forum kicked off in Guangzhou on April 14th. The fair has fully resumed its offline exhibitions this year, using a new venue with an area of 100,000 square meters for the first time. Over 35,000 companies from more than 200 countries and regions are participating, setting a new record for exhibition space and the number of exhibitors.

Xu Bing, Spokesperson for the Canton Fair and Vice Director of the China Foreign Trade Centre, said that this year's event made four breakthroughs in terms of expanding its scale, optimizing its themes, integrating online and offline elements, and enhancing quality to promote high-quality development.


Over 90% of exhibitors are private enterprises

It is worth noting that the fair features three new exhibition areas for industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, new energy and intelligent networked vehicles, and maternal and child products, as well as three new zones for smart home appliances, the grey-hair economy, and detection and protection products. With over 300 new product launches, the fair fully showcases the latest achievements in technological innovation and advanced manufacturing.

Among the exhibiting companies, production companies and private businesses accounting for 50.57% and 90.1%, respectively. The number of high-quality characteristic companies has reached a new high, with about 5,700 top companies, including industry leaders and businesses with titles such as "little giants", manufacturing champions, national high-tech enterprises, and national enterprise technology centers.

Furthermore, the quality of products has been further improved, with over 3 million online exhibits, including almost 800,000 new products and nearly 500,000 green and low-carbon products.

According to reports, China's foreign trade enterprises with import and export performance reached 457,000 in the first quarter, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year, including 384,000 private enterprises. Representatives of these outstanding foreign trade import and export companies can be found among the exhibitors at this year's Canton Fair.

Exhibitors from 40 countries and regions

This year's Canton Fair has opened its doors to the world with a record-breaking 30,000 square meters of exhibition space, a 50% increase from the pre-pandemic level. The fair boasts import exhibitions in all three phases for the first time, with 508 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions showing up in 12 specialized exhibition zones. Of these exhibitors, 73% are from countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

To better serve the exhibitors, the Canton Fair has optimized 141 functions on its online platform, including the debut of a trade assistant that integrates functions such as exhibition zone queries, demand releases, supply and procurement management, business card exchanges, and order management.

"Relying on the Canton Fair online platform, we can establish long-term and stable relationships with more companies and showcase our products to the outside world. By engaging in the event, we have also achieved significant business growth," said Jennifer Patton, the Asia Pacific Regional Director of Mexico's Coppel Company at the opening ceremony.

LuLu Group International's Global Marketing Director, Nandakumar, expressed his joy at the Canton Fair's ability to restore offline exhibitions and the opportunity to find great suppliers and new products at the fair.

As an important platform for China's all-around opening-up, promoting high-quality development of international trade, and linking domestic and international double circulation, the Canton Fair has effectively boosted China's import and export trade. The Canton Fair, with its new look, will have important implications for deepening China's trade with other countries and promoting the global economic recovery and development.

第133届广交会开幕
展览规模创历史新高

4月14日,第133届广交会暨第二届珠江国际贸易论坛开幕式在穗举办。本届广交会全面恢复线下办展,首次启用面积10万平方米新场馆,吸引200多个国家和地区的厂商,近3.5万家企业线下参展,展览面积和参展企业数量均创历史新高。

广交会新闻发言人、中国对外贸易中心副主任徐兵表示,本届广交会实现规模扩大、题材优化、双线融合、质量提升四个新突破,全面推进高质量发展。

参展民营企业占比超90%

据了解,本届广交会新设工业自动化及智能制造、新能源及智能网联汽车、孕婴童用品3个新展区和智慧生活、银发经济、检测和防护用品等3个新专区。新品首发活动超300场,全方位展示科技创新和先进制造业发展的最新成果。

作为最大参展主体,生产企业、民营企业占比分别达50.57%和90.1%。优质特色企业数量创历史新高,行业头部企业和拥有专精特新“小巨人”企业、制造业单项冠军、国家级高新技术企业、国家企业技术中心等称号的优质企业共计约5700家。

产品质量进一步提升,企业线上展品已超过300万件,其中新产品近80万件,绿色低碳产品近50万件。

据悉,一季度,我国有进出口实绩的外贸企业45.7万家,同比增长5.9%。其中,民营企业38.4万家。这些外贸进出口企业的优秀代表,就在本届广交会参展商中。

40个国家和地区企业参展

本届广交会首次在三个展期均设进口展,面积达到3万平方米,较疫情前增长50%。来自40个国家和地区的508家企业在12个专业展区参展,其中“一带一路”沿线国家和地区的参展企业占73%。

为更好服务参展企业,本届广交会线上平台共优化141项功能。首次推出“贸易助手”,整合展区查询、需求发布、供采管理、名片交换、订单管理等功能。

“依托广交会平台,我们得以和更多公司建立长久且稳定的联系,向外界展示产品。通过广交会,我们也实现了业务的显著增长。”开幕式上,墨西哥科佩尔公司亚洲区总经理珍妮弗•帕顿说。

阿联酋LULU集团全球营销总裁莱达古玛则称,在广交会上总能找到大而优的供应商和新产品。对于广交会能够恢复线下办展,他充满了欣喜。

作为中国全方位对外开放、促进国际贸易高质量发展、联通国内国际双循环的重要平台,广交会有力带动了我国的进出口贸易。以全新面貌再出发的广交会,将对深化中国与各国贸易往来,促进全球经济贸易恢复发展具有重要意义。
