Guangzhou will build railways to reach Beijing and Shanghai in 3 hours

The Department of Natural Resources of Guangdong Province has proposed that the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao high-speed maglev railway and the Shanghai (Shenzhen)-Guangzhou high-speed maglev railway along the coast will be constructed. It is worth noting that Guangzhou will become the meeting place of the two high-speed rails.

The Shanghai-Guangzhou high-speed maglev railway will pass through Shanghai, Shanwei, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. The Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao high-speed maglev railway will pass through Zhuhai, Guangzhou and Shaoguan. After that, the time from Guangzhou to Shanghai will be less than 3 hours. It will only take about 3.3 hours to travel from Guangzhou to Beijing by maglev train, which is less than half the time by high-speed rail.

The Guangzhou-Shenzhen section of the Shanghai-Guangzhou high-speed maglev railway is most likely to be constructed first. This section of the railway will run from Guangzhou east to Shenzhen Xiangmihu East Station, with a total length of about 110 kilometers. It will be connected to Guangzhou East Station, Dongguan Hadi Station, Shenzhen Xiangmihu Station, and it is expected to be connected to Hong Kong Kowloon Station in the future. After that, the two airports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen will be able to be reached in just 20 minutes. This will further promote the integration of Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
