The 13th Canton Tower Run Up was announced at a press conference on October 27th, 2026. The main event will be held on November 29th, while competition on the "Alpha Sky Exploration" course will begin earlier, on November 21st. The second Canton Tower Robot Run Up Competition was also unveiled as a key part of this year's program.
This year's event will feature three courses. The "core tube" course runs from the 2nd to the 112th floor, with 2,738 steps testing participants' speed and endurance. The "sky ladder" course follows a 1,096-step spiral staircase from the 33rd to the 67th floor, giving participants 360-degree views of the city as they climb. The "Alpha Sky Exploration" course features red, blue and green routes designed to test participants' limits and deliver an adrenaline rush.
The "core tube" course offers individual and three-person team categories. Only charity places are available for the "sky ladder" course, while the "Alpha Sky Exploration" course offers a three-person team category. Organizers have also launched a virtual running challenge. Participants can now log their runs through the 21 Finance app and fitness platforms such as Keep for a chance to win guaranteed race entry, event merchandise and other rewards.
At the press conference, organizers also invited robotics brands from around the world to compete in the second Canton Tower Robot Run Up Competition.
After 13 years of careful development, the Canton Tower Run Up has attracted more than one million participants in total from over 40 countries and regions. Together with the Guangzhou Marathon and the Guangzhou International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament, it forms Guangzhou's sporting lineup on water, on land and high above the city.

11月29日开跑！2026广州塔国际登高赛正式发布
10月27日，2026第十三届广州塔国际登高赛新闻发布会举行。大赛定档11月29日开跑，其中阿尔法凌空探险赛道于11月21日率先开赛。同时，第二届广州塔机器人登高挑战赛作为大赛重点项目同步推出。
本届大赛设三大赛道：广州塔核心筒赛道（2至112楼）包含2738级台阶，考验参赛者的速度与耐力；千步天梯赛道（33至67楼）为螺旋式阶梯，共1096级台阶，选手可在攀登过程中360°欣赏城市美景；阿尔法凌空探险赛道分设红、蓝、绿三条线路，为选手带来极限挑战与刺激体验。
报名方面，核心筒赛道设个人组、三人组；天梯赛道仅开放慈善名额；阿尔法凌空探险赛道设三人组。赛事同步推出线上挑战赛，即日起，选手可通过21财经APP、Keep等运动平台参与跑步打卡，赢取大赛直通名额、赛事周边等奖励。
此外，第二届广州塔机器人登高挑战赛也在发布会现场向全球机器人品牌发出竞技邀请。
