At the Greater Bay Area International Brain-Computer Interface Industry Innovation Conference held on October 21st, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Industry Innovation Alliance released the "Guangdong Province Brain-Computer Interface Industry Development White Paper (2026 Edition)," along with four brain-computer interface industry maps covering R&D, industry, markets and commercialization.

The white paper consists of 10 chapters and covers both invasive and non-invasive BCIs as well as the entire upstream, midstream, and downstream industrial chain. Information on policies and industry developments is current through August 2026.

The white paper's key finding is that Guangdong's brain-computer interface industry ranks in China's top tier. More than 100 key companies in Guangdong have registered brain-computer interface products or products under development, ranking first nationwide. Guangdong has 27 registered clinical studies related to brain-computer interfaces, accounting for 20.1% of the national total, while 28 medical institutions have established or are preparing to establish clinical research wards for brain-computer interfaces. Both figures rank first among China's provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. The province has also filed 360 brain-computer interface patent applications, ranking second nationwide.

The four brain-computer interface industry maps released alongside the white paper chart the distribution of research capabilities, key companies across the upstream, midstream and downstream segments, five market demand areas including healthcare, and six commercialization areas, including proof of concept, pilot testing, clinical research wards, testing and inspection, industrial funds and incubation platforms.

The white paper shows that Guangdong has developed an industrial landscape featuring "differentiated dual cores in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, coordinated supporting industries in the Pearl River Delta, and application expansion in eastern, western, and northern Guangdong." Guangdong is making non-invasive BCIs the main battlefield while strategically positioning itself in invasive technologies. In June 2026, Guangdong issued the Action Plan for the Coordinated Development of Brain-Computer Interface Science, Technology and Industry in Guangdong Province (2026–2030); in July, the Alliance was established in Guangzhou with 124 founding members.

广东：脑机接口产业居全国“第一梯队”

10月21日举行的粤港澳脑机接口创新大会上，粤港澳大湾区脑机接口产业创新联盟发布《广东省脑机接口产业发展白皮书（2026版）》，以及科研、产业、市场、转化四大脑机接口图谱。

白皮书共设十章，覆盖侵入式与非侵入式双技术路线及上中下游全产业链，政策与产业动态统计截至2026年8月。

白皮书的核心判断是：广东脑机接口产业已位居全国“第一梯队”。拥有脑机接口产品注册证或在研产品的重点企业超过100家，居全国首位；已登记脑机接口相关临床研究27项、占全国20.1%，28家医疗机构设立或筹建脑机接口临床研究病房，两项均居各省区市首位；专利申请量360项、居全国第二。

与白皮书同步发布的四大图谱，分别绘制科研力量布局、上中下游重点企业、医疗健康等五大市场需求，以及概念验证、中试、临床研究病房、检验检测、产业基金、孵化载体六大转化板块。

白皮书显示，广东已形成“广深双核错位、珠三角配套协同、粤东西北应用拓展”的产业格局，走“非侵入式为主战场、侵入式跟踪布局”的差异化路径。2026年6月，广东印发《广东省脑机接口科技与产业协同发展行动计划（2026—2030年）》；同年7月，联盟在广州成立，首批成员124家。
