On August 27th, the 16th China International Digital Publishing Expo opened in Jinan. The Guangdong E-sports Super League (GESL), co-hosted by the Yangcheng Evening News Group and the Guangdong Entertainment & Game Industry Association, was also on display at the venue.

This marks the third time this year that the GESL has appeared at a major national cultural and publishing exhibition. In May, it exhibited in Shenzhen for the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair; in June, it was featured in Beijing for the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF); and two months later, it participated in Jinan for the China International Digital Publishing Expo.

Its presence at these three major expos this year can be seen as a step forward for the GESL, as it transitions from hosting events to building an IP.

With each of these three appearances, the league shifted its focus to match the theme of the expo. The Cultural Industries Fair highlighted cultural industries; BIBF emphasized publishing, copyright, and international exchange; and the Digital Publishing Expo centered on new products, new models, and new business formats in digital publishing. Through these three appearances, the league presented three different facets of Guangdong: e-sports in the cultural industry, digital publishing, and young people's daily lives.

In 2026, a homegrown Guangdong e-sports IP has begun making frequent appearances on national platforms for cultural industries and digital publishing. Beyond the arena, the GESL is also striving to grow its own cultural IP from Guangdong's leading e-sports industry, and to reach a wider audience.

电竞粤超：亮相三大展会，从“办赛事”迈向“做IP”

8月27日，第十六届中国国际数字出版博览会在济南开幕。羊城晚报报业集团（羊城晚报社）和广东省游戏产业协会主办的电竞粤超也出现在展馆里。

这已经是今年以来，电竞粤超第三次亮相全国大型文化出版类展会。5月，它来到深圳参加第二十二届中国（深圳）国际文化产业博览交易会；6月，又北上北京，进入第三十二届北京国际图书博览会（BIBF）；两个月后，来到济南，走进中国国际数字出版博览会。

今年在三次大型展会亮相，可以看作电竞粤超从“办赛事”向“做IP”迈出的一步。

电竞粤超这三次亮相，每换一个展会，展现的关键词都有所变化。文博会看文化产业，BIBF看出版、版权与国际交流，数博会进一步聚焦数字出版的新产品、新模式和新业态。电竞粤超三次参展展示的是三张不同的广东名片：文化产业里的电竞、数字出版里的电竞，以及年轻人日常生活里的电竞。

2026年，一个广东本土电竞IP，开始频繁走上全国文化产业和数字出版平台。赛场之外，电竞粤超也在尝试从广东领先的游戏电竞产业中，长出属于自己的文化IP，并走向更远的地方。
