Today, the 2026 Southern China Book Fair (SCBF) opened in Guangzhou. This year, at the key juncture of the APEC "China Year," the International Pavilion has been upgraded to include a new 1,500-square-meter APEC Themed Culture Pavilion. The new pavilion, together with the Thailand Pavilion (Guest of Honor Pavilion), the Asia and Europe Pavilion, and the Latin America and Africa Pavilion, forms four major exhibition zones, transforming cross-regional cultural exchange into tangible, participatory local experiences.

Driven by the APEC "China Year," the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the surge of interest in overseas Chinese history and culture sparked by the global hit film "Dear You," this year's fair features a dedicated Thailand Pavilion (Guest of Honor Pavilion). According to organizers, the 2025 SCBF attracted publishing and cultural institutions from 23 countries and regions. It also introduced international themed pavilions for the first time, including the Southeast Asian Pavilion and the Europe Pavilion, marking a major breakthrough in the event's internationalization compared with previous years.

The 2026 SCBF is set to take another major step forward in strengthening its international connections. Seizing the opportunity of the APEC Summit to be held in Shenzhen this November, the fair will establish an international pavilion system comprising the APEC Themed Culture Pavilion, the Thailand Pavilion (Guest of Honor Pavilion), special pavilions for four continents, and the Hong Kong and Macao Pavilion.

The upgrade of the exhibition spaces at the 2026 SCBF represents a fresh opening of the boundaries of reading. With the APEC summit lending fresh momentum, the International Pavilion serves as a bridge for mutual learning among civilizations, while cross-regional collaborations—between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, as well as between Guangdong and Shanghai—bring distinct cultural traditions together in one shared space where they can meet, interact, and flourish.

2026南国书香节启幕：乘APEC之东风，架设文明互鉴桥梁

今天，2026南国书香节在广州盛大启幕。今年南国书香节国际馆借APEC中国年的关键节点完成了一次量级升级——增设1500平方米的APEC主题文化馆，串联泰国主宾国馆、亚欧馆以及拉美非洲馆四大展区，把跨山海的文化交流转化为读者可触摸、可参与的在地体验。

基于“APEC中国年”、中国与东盟建立全面战略伙伴关系5周年的背景，也得益于《给阿嬷的情书》全球热映所掀起的侨史侨文化热潮，今年书香节特别开设泰国主宾国馆。相关负责人介绍，2025南国书香节吸引了23个国家和地区的出版文化机构参展，首次设立东南亚国家馆、欧洲国家馆等国际主题展馆，国际化水平较往年取得突破性进展。

2026南国书香节将继续在“链接世界”的维度上努力实现跨越，以今年11月在深圳举行APEC峰会为契机，构建“APEC主题馆+泰国主宾国馆+四大洲特色馆+港澳馆”的国际化展馆体系。

2026年南国书香节场馆的升级迭代，是一次对“阅读边界”的全新打开：国际馆借APEC的东风架起文明互鉴的桥梁，粤港澳三地、粤沪的跨域联动让不同地域的文脉在此交汇共生。
