Starting at midnight on August 18th, 2026, three new facilitation measures optimizing the "Joint Inspection, One-Time Release" immigration clearance mode officially came into force at three joint inspection ports: the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port, Hengqin Port, and Qingmao Port. The measures cover optimizing identity document verification for Hong Kong and Macao residents, as well as expanding the eligibility scope for Joint Inspection Automated Channels and One-stop Joint Services Lanes, further facilitating personnel flows across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Under the new measures, Macao residents and Hong Kong permanent residents traveling from the Chinese mainland to Macao via the "three-door" Joint Inspection Automated Channels at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Hengqin, and Qingmao ports, or through the One-stop Joint Services Lanes at Hengqin Port, can now complete automated immigration clearance, for both departure and arrival, simply by presenting their Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (including non-Chinese citizens). Alternatively, travelers may continue using their Macao Resident Identity Card or Hong Kong Permanent Resident Identity Card, achieving convenient single-document clearance.

Chinese citizens holding a one-year, multiple-entry Exit-Entry Permit of the People's Republic of China can travel through the "three-door" Joint Inspection Automated Channels at the Zhuhai-Macao Passenger Clearance Hall of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port and Hengqin Port (restricted to ports where travelers have registered), provided they have completed automated clearance enrollment procedures with the immigration inspection authorities of the Chinese Mainland and Macao.
Upon completing the automated clearance enrollment procedures with the immigration inspection authorities of the Chinese Mainland and Macao, eligible foreign nationals and Taiwan residents may drive through the One-stop Joint Services Lanes at Hengqin Port. These eligible individuals specifically include: foreign nationals holding a foreign passport and a Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card; foreign nationals holding a foreign electronic passport alongside a residence permit valid for at least 6 months or a multiple-entry Chinese visa valid for at least 6 months (who must simultaneously satisfy Macao's multiple-entry requirements); and Taiwan residents holding a 5-year Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents.
Since the deployment of the One-stop Joint Services Lanes at Hengqin Port, the clearance time per vehicle has been slashed from the original 8 minutes to under 90 seconds, with the fastest processing completed in just 50 seconds for joint clearance. The expansion of eligible personnel will allow a broader group of cross-boundary drivers to enjoy efficient clearance services through the arrangement of "single queue, centralized collection, joint release."
