On August 17th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to give a briefing on the national economic performance in July of this year. Overall, China's economic performance remained generally stable in the first seven months. In the first half of the year, new growth drivers, represented by the digital economy, contributed over 40% to economic growth. Based on the July data, the contribution of growth in these new drivers to economic expansion remained prominent.

On the industrial front, new industrial drivers contributed 50% to the overall growth of industrial enterprises above designated size from January to July. In terms of production, the accelerated development of digitalization and smart transformation provided a noticeable boost to related industries. In July, the value added of digital product manufacturing increased by 17.3% year on year, and the Index of Services Production for information transmission, software and information technology services grew by 9.3%, both maintaining robust growth. The artificial intelligence industry chain demonstrated positive development momentum, with the output of products such as memory chips and industrial robots experiencing rapid growth.

On the demand side, continuous increases in investment in emerging sectors, along with the expanding consumption of cultural, tourism, leisure, and digital products, have injected new impetus into economic development. From January to July, investment in high-tech industries grew by 5% year on year, while the retail sales of tourism and cultural, sports and leisure services both surged by over 10%. With the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation, new forms of the smart economy continue to emerge, and the supporting role of new growth drivers in economic development will continue to be enhanced.

前7个月国民经济总体平稳

8月17日，国务院新闻办公室举行新闻发布会，介绍今年7月份国民经济运行情况。总体来看，前7个月我国经济运行保持总体平稳。上半年，以数字经济等为代表的新动能对经济增长的贡献超过四成。从7月份情况看，新动能成长对经济增长的贡献依然明显。

从工业看，1—7月份，工业新动能对整个规模以上工业增长的贡献达到五成。从生产看，数字化和智能化加快发展，对相关产业带动明显。7月份，数字产品制造业增加值同比增长17.3%，信息传输软件和信息技术服务业生产指数增长9.3%，均保持较快增长。人工智能产业链发展向好，存储芯片、工业机器人等产品产量都快速增加。

从需求看，新兴领域投资持续加大，文旅休闲、数字产品消费不断扩大，为经济发展注入新动能。1—7月份高技术产业投资同比增长5%，旅游类、文体休闲服务类零售额增长都超过10%。随着科技创新和产业创新的深度融合，智能经济新形态不断涌现，新动能成长对经济发展的支撑作用将会持续增强。
