On August 5th, the Guangdong-produced film"Dear You" premiered in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, marking its official debut in Southeast Asia's largest country.

At 6:00 PM local time (7:00 PM Beijing time), the premiere officially kicked offat the XXI Cinema in Plaza Indonesia, a landmark commercial complex in central Jakarta. Guests including Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, daughter of Indonesia's first president Sukarno; Fauzan Zidni, chairman of the Indonesian National Film Board; and Wang Siping, cultural counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, were invited to attend and view the film.

Before the screening, guests signed the "Dear You" display board and posed for group photos. Chen Meizhuan, an Indonesian Chinese in her 80s and a descendant of Chaoshan immigrants, recited a line from the film in the Chaoshan dialect, "Across the vast rivers and seas, the thought of you makes the distance feel not so far."

"The story in this film is just like my father's journey to Nanyang to make a living," Chen said. "I have finally waited for this film to be released in Indonesia. I'm so excited and had to come and watch it. I hope everyone will come to see this film."

Sun Jifei, founding president of the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesiaand deputy editor-in-chief of Indonesia Business Daily, is a member of the younger generation of Indonesian Chinese. He moved to Indonesia in 2007 and has lived and worked there for nearly two decades.

In an interview with Yangcheng Evening News, Sun Jifei shared his excitement over the premiere."Indonesia is the world's fourth-most-populous nation and home to one of the largest overseas Chinese communities. This film helps both new-generation and elderly overseas Chinese better understand the culture of our motherland. I have seen this film multiple times back in China. I came specially for this Indonesian premiere to do my part for Chinese films and Chinese culture going global.”

"We're very confident about the film's box office performance," said Ajay, a representative of Prima, the film's Indonesian distributor. "The film has performed very well in other Southeast Asian countries, and its story is deeply moving. We were impressed by its quality when we first watched it, and we'll do our best to bring it to more audiences."

《给阿嬷的情书》印尼首映，老华侨深情告白：终于等到这部电影！

8月5日，粤产电影《给阿嬷的情书》在印尼首都雅加达首映，标志着这部大热电影正式登陆东南亚最大国家。

当地时间18时（北京时间19时），电影首映活动在雅加达市中心商业地标Plaza Indonesia 的XXI影院正式开始。印尼首任总统苏加诺的女儿苏卡玛瓦蒂·苏加诺普特丽（Sukmawati Soekarnoputri），印尼国家电影局（国家电影委员会）主席法赞（Fauzan Zidni），中国驻印尼大使馆文化参赞王思平等嘉宾受邀参加了电影首映活动并观看影片。

观影前，嘉宾们在《给阿嬷的情书》电影立牌前签字并合影留念。年过八旬的陈美专老人是印尼华侨，潮汕后裔。她现场用潮汕话读了一段电影中的台词——“江海万里、心中念你，便不觉遥远”。

陈美专说：“这部影片讲的故事跟我父亲来南洋打拼的故事是一样的，终于等到这部影片来印尼上映，我非常激动，一定要来看。我希望大家都能来看这部电影。”

印尼广东省总商会创会会长、《印度尼西亚商报》副总编辑孙继飞是新一代印尼华侨。2007年，他就到印尼工作，已经在印尼深耕扎根近20年。

孙继飞在接受羊城晚报记者采访时说：“《给阿嬷的情书》来到印尼，我非常激动。印尼是世界第四大人口大国，也是华人华侨最多的国家。对于我们新一代华侨，以及老一辈华侨，这部电影将让我们更了解自己祖国的文化。我在国内已经‘几刷’这部影片，这次特别来出席此次印尼首映，也是为中国电影和中国文化出海尽一份力。”

“我们对电影的票房很有信心！”印尼电影发行方Prima公司的代表阿吉（Ajay）在接受记者采访时说，“这部电影在东南亚其他国家表现很好，而且电影的故事非常动人。我们看片的时候就赞叹电影的质量，我们会努力让更多人看到这部电影。”
