"China offers access to more complex cases and more learning opportunities. Not only Fiji, but all Pacific island countries, should gain a better understanding of and learn from China's advanced medical expertise." Recently, Shahin, an interventional cardiologist from Fiji who is receiving training at Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, shared his views in an interview with reporters.

As the only cardiovascular interventional physician in Fiji, Shahin said that his visit to China was not only aimed at learning advanced interventional techniques, but also at bringing China's medical concepts and models back to the South Pacific.

Shahin noted that Fiji has relatively limited medical resources, and there is a significant gap between its cardiovascular intervention capabilities and those of China. In China, he has encountered more complex cases, with far more types of procedures and hands-on opportunities than in Fiji. "In China, there are many more things you can do, and the scope for practice is much broader," he said. "This is an extremely valuable learning opportunity for me."

After one month of training in China, Shahin said he was deeply impressed by the country's advanced medical system. Fiji has traditionally drawn on medical standards from Western countries such as Europe and the United States, but those models are often too costly and may not necessarily suit Fiji's national conditions. "The solutions provided by China are highly effective while being much more affordable, making them very suitable for our environment," he said. Shahin added that he would continue to encourage more Fijian medical professionals to come to China for training.

斐济介入医生来粤培训：太平洋岛国需要积极借鉴中国先进医疗实践

“在中国能接触到的病例更复杂，学习机会更多。不只是斐济，我希望整个太平洋岛国都能更多地了解并学习中国的医疗水平。”近日，正在广东省人民医院参加培训的斐济心内科介入医生Shahin接受了记者采访。

作为斐济当地唯一的心血管介入医生，Shahin表示，此行来到中国，不仅是为了学习先进的介入技术，更希望将中国医疗的理念与模式带回南太平洋。

Shahin坦言，斐济医疗资源相对有限，心血管介入治疗水平与中国存在明显差距。在中国，他接触到了更多复杂病例，手术种类和操作机会远远超过斐济。“在中国，你能做的事情多得多，操作的空间更加广泛。”他说，“这对我来说是极其宝贵的学习机会。”

来华培训一个月，Shahin直言，中国医疗体系的发达程度令他惊叹。斐济过去主要借鉴西方欧美的医疗标准，但那些模式实在太昂贵，并不一定适合斐济的国情。“中国提供的解决方案非常有效，价格却便宜得多，非常适合我们的环境。”他表示，自己一定会越来越推荐斐济医护人员来华培训。
