A vibrant cultural celebration featuring Yingge dance, lion danceand martial arts—three representative elements of China's intangible cultural heritage (ICH)—lit up one of the most important landmarks of Chinese culture on the U.S. East Coast. On July 25th (local time), the "Yingge Rhythms of Guangdong, Lion Dance Shines in New York" event was held in New York's Chinatown.

Hosted by the American Chaozhou Business Association, the event featured performances by the South Lion Dance Drum and Dragon Lion Troupe and the Puning Fumei Youth Yingge Team, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province. They shared the stage with the New York Choy Lay Fut Dragon & Lion Team and the US Wushu Masters Association, showcasing the profound heritage of Lingnan culture while building a bridge for people-to-people exchanges between Guangdong and New York.

Tina, a Chinese American of Chaozhou ancestry who grew up in the United States, said she was delighted to see ICH performances from her hometown, noting that such performances are rarely seen in the U.S. "They're so unique and so impressive! I hope there will be more performances like this for Americans to see in the future." She added, "Of course, they're even more spectacular in China!"

Representing the event organizer, Ma Lixi, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the American Chaozhou Business Association, said that New York's Chinatown, as a major landmark of Chinese culture on the U.S. East Coast, embodies the history and community spirit of Chinese Americans. Li Hanqiang, the Association's Executive Chairman, noted that the event was not only a remarkable cultural performance but also a vivid platform for promoting traditional Chinese culture to people from all walks of life in New York, opening a new chapter in people-to-people cultural exchanges between China and the United States.

“希望更多美国朋友看到精彩的岭南非遗！”中美表演者在纽约唐人街同场献艺、热力非凡

在美国东岸重要的中华文化地标，由英歌、醒狮、武术——三大非遗元素碰撞出的一场传统与活力并存的文化盛宴火热上演。当地时间7月25日，“英歌扬粤韵 醒狮耀纽约”活动在纽约唐人街举办。

活动由美国潮商总会主办，广东省文化和旅游厅组织南国醒狮鼓乐龙狮团与普宁富美青年英歌队，携手纽约蔡李佛醒狮团、美国武术家协会同场献艺，既彰显了岭南文化的深厚底蕴，也架起了广东与纽约民间交流的桥梁。

祖籍潮州、在美国长大的华人Tina说，很高兴看到来自家乡的非遗表演，这在美国很少能看到，“好特别、好精彩！希望日后多一些这样的表演能让美国人看到。”她特别指出，“在中国看会更精彩！”

作为活动主办方，美国潮商总会副主席兼秘书长马立禧表示，纽约唐人街作为美国东岸重要的中华文化地标，承载着华人历史与社区精神；执行主席李汉强则指出，此次活动不仅是一次精彩展演，更是向纽约各界推广中华传统文化的生动平台，为中美民间文化交流写下了崭新一页。
