On July 21st, a 32-member delegation from the Zhao Family Lion Dance Company and the Fumei Youth Yingge Team from the town of Puning in Guangdong departed for the United States under the organization of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province. The performers will take the stage at Lincoln Center in New York on the evening of July 22nd local time, making a high-profile appearance during Chinese Arts Week, part of Lincoln Center's Summer for the City.

A major highlight of the performances in the United States will be the dynamic pairing of Awakening Lion dance and Yingge dance. The two teams have joined forces to form the Guangdong performing arts troupe for the intangible cultural heritage of the Awakening Lion dance and Yingge dance. Breaking new ground in program design, the troupe will seamlessly blend the majestic Awakening Lion dance with the vigorous and heroic Yingge dance. The performances will retain classic sequences such as cai qing("plucking the greens" ritual) and a lion dance competition, while incorporating elements of hip-hop music to infuse the time-honored art of lion dance with youthful energy.

Notably, during the 2026 Spring Festival, Guangdong Yingge performers toured Russia and Spain, where they engaged warmly with local audiences and received an enthusiastic response. This time, performing for New Yorkers, the troupe hopes to turn audience members from spectators into participants, giving them a firsthand experience of the distinctive appeal of China's intangible cultural heritage. After each performance at Lincoln Center, more than 10 minutes will be set aside for an interactive session, during which audience members will be invited at random to learn Yingge dance and Awakening Lion movements directly from the performers.

The overseas tour will last one week. In addition to several formal performances at Lincoln Center, the troupe will stage pop-up performances in Times Square, New York's Chinatown and the American Dream Mall, engaging with local communities at close range.

广东两大非遗“醒狮+英歌”将亮相美国纽约

7月21日，在广东省文化和旅游厅的组织下，南国醒狮鼓乐龙狮团（赵家狮）与普宁富美青年英歌队一行32人启程奔赴美国。他们将于当地时间7月22日晚登上纽约林肯中心的舞台，在“城市之夏艺术节·中国艺术周”中重磅亮相。

此次赴美演出的最大亮点莫过于醒狮与英歌的强强联合。两支团队共同组成广东非遗醒狮英歌艺术团，在节目编排上大胆突破，将威风凛凛的南国醒狮与刚劲雄壮的英歌舞进行有机融合，既保留传统采青、狮王争霸等经典桥段，又创新融入嘻哈音乐元素，让千年醒狮焕发出年轻活力。

值得一提的是，2026年春节期间，广东英歌出访俄罗斯、西班牙时，已经与当地的群众形成了良好的互动，反响热烈。此次面向纽约市民群众，团队希望让观众从“旁观者”变为“参与者”，亲身感受中国非遗的独特魅力。在林肯中心的每场演出结束后，团队都将预留十多分钟的互动体验环节，随机邀请现场观众，手把手教他们跳英歌、舞醒狮。

据悉，此次出海整个行程为期一周，除林肯中心的多场正式展演外，还将在纽约时代广场、纽约唐人街与美国梦购物中心等地进行快闪，与当地民众零距离互动。
