China's gross domestic product reached 69.5704 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, up 4.7% year on year, according to data on national economic performance released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China on July 15th. New growth drivers represented by high-end manufacturing, the digital economy and modern services accounted for more than 40% of economic growth during the period, highlighting China's clear shift toward new and higher-quality development.

According to preliminary estimates, China's GDP totaled 69.5704 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, representing year-on-year growth of 4.7% at constant prices. During the same period, the value added of high-tech manufacturing enterprises above the designated size and that of digital products manufacturing rose by 13.3% and 12.3%, respectively. Surging demand for high-end computing chips and memory chips, driven by advances in global artificial intelligence technologies, boosted China's integrated circuit output among industrial enterprises above the designated size by 23.1%. Total output of integrated circuits reached 279.8 billion units, equivalent to an average of more than 1.5 billion units per day.
In addition to integrated circuits, the output of smart products such as 5G smartphones, 3D printing equipment and service robots also maintained rapid growth. Average daily token usage has reached several hundred trillion, marking a leap of several orders of magnitude and demonstrating the vitality and potential of China's digital and intelligent economies.
