The Chinese film "Dear You" premiered in New Zealand on the evening of June 24th local time, drawing hundreds of attendees, including overseas Chinese and locals from all walks of life.
The film is set against the cultural backdrop of the "Qiaopi" archives, which are inscribed on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. Told through family letters crossing time and space, the story brings to life the moving journey of the older generation of overseas Chinese, who left home to toil abroad while always keeping their loved ones and homeland close to heart.
As Jieyang served as a key filming location for the movie, the premiere showcased the charm of Jieyang Ancient City, winning over a host of overseas Chinese.

中国电影《给阿嬷的情书》于当地时间6月24日晚在新西兰举行首映礼,吸引了华侨华人、当地各界人士数百人到场观影。
影片以“侨批档案” 为文化背景,通过跨越时空的家书故事,再现了老一辈华侨远赴海外奋斗拼搏、心系故土亲人的感人历程。
揭阳作为影片的重要取景地,首映礼现场揭阳古城元素满满,圈粉一众华侨。
