Recently, five rare twin lotus flowers have bloomed in succession in the lotus pond of Liwan Lake Park in Guangzhou. On June 15th, reporters visited the site and found that three of the flowers were still in full bloom, attracting large numbers of local residents and photography enthusiasts seeking good fortune.

Twin lotus flowers occur with a probability of only about one in 100,000. Featuring two blossoms growing from a single stalk, they have long been regarded in Chinese culture as a symbol of good fortune, harmony and happiness. The appearance of five twin lotus flowers at Liwan Lake is particularly rare. At present, three of them can be found in the waters near Haishan Xianguan and are at their peak viewing period.

"I finally managed to get clear photos of all three. I wouldn't be surprised if more appear," said a local resident during her morning exercise. Many visitors made special trips to the park, posing for photos with the flowers and hoping for continuous good fortune.

With the flowering season relatively short, residents hoping to witness this touch of summer romance are encouraged to visit soon. The blooming twin lotus flowers are not only a reward for Guangzhou's meticulous efforts in maintaining clear waters and green banks, but also a unique expression of the city's summertime charm.
