On June 5th, "MindScape," a modern dance and work of "integrated art" created by Shen Wei Dance Arts and Guangdong Modern Dance Company, with internationally renowned artist Shen Wei as chief director, held its world premiere at Guangzhou Opera House to an enthusiastic audience response. Following its Guangzhou premiere, "MindScape" will travel to the United States from July 12th to 28th this year for an international tour at the invitation of the American Dance Festival and New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Rooted in the philosophical thought of Chinese culture, "MindScape" draws its concept from the ideals and moral bearing of the Chinese literati, whose vision embraced the wider world. It highlights the humanistic ideas of inner landscape and the realm of the mind, exploring a profound unity among the inner self, nature and the spirit. Shen Wei hopes to present traditional Chinese thought and philosophy through a contemporary artistic language, conveying to the world a positive outlook on a better future.

The production brings together a high-calibre creative team. Four musicians, namely guqin virtuoso Zhao Xiaoxia, xiao performer Liu Xiaogang, percussionist Chen Shijie, and electronic composer and performer Meng Kezhuolan, not only contributed to the musical creation of the work, but also performed live on stage at the premiere. A variety of artistic elements complement one another, jointly presenting a light, joyful and colourful "mindscape" while creating a seamlessly integrated, immersive stage experience.

"MindScape" marks Shen Wei's first in-depth attempt to bring Chinese and international dancers together in close collaboration. During several months of creation and rehearsal, dancers from China and abroad overcame differences in language and culture, using the body as a medium to develop a distinctive artistic rapport. Dancer Guo Fan recalled, "Although we come from different cultural backgrounds, our exchanges and discussions sparked artistic inspiration, and through the process of adjustment and integration, we came to understand one another's artistic ideas." Shen Wei described the collaboration as "writing the same poem in different languages."

现代舞《心境》在广州圆满举行世界首演

6月5日，由国际著名艺术家沈伟担任总导演，沈伟舞蹈艺术团与广东现代舞团联合打造的整体艺术——现代舞《心境》在广州大剧院举行世界首演，观众反响热烈。《心境》在广州完成首演后，将应美国舞蹈节及纽约林肯艺术中心邀请，于今年7月12日至7月28日赴美国开展国际巡演。

《心境》以中国文化中的哲学思想为基础，理念源于中国文人“胸怀天下”的理想气节，凸显“心灵景观、心像境界”的人文理念，探索内心与自然、精神的高度统一。沈伟希望将中国传统的思想与哲学通过当代表达，向世界传递对美好未来的积极态度。

作品集合了优质创作团队，古琴演奏家赵晓霞、箫演奏家刘小冈、打击乐演奏家陈世杰以及电子演奏作曲家蒙柯卓兰四位音乐家不仅参与了作品的音乐创作，更在首演现场亲自登台演奏。各类艺术元素相辅相成，共同呈现轻盈、愉悦、多彩的“心境”，打造浑然一体的沉浸式舞台观感。

《心境》是沈伟首次深入尝试，促使中外舞者携手合作。在长达数月的创排中，中外舞者跨越语言与文化差异，以身体为媒介建立起独特的艺术默契。舞者郭凡回忆道：“虽然大家文化背景不一样，但在交流切磋中碰撞艺术火花，在磨合中实现艺术理念的互通。”沈伟将这种合作形容为“用不同的语言，写同一篇文章”。
