The national vision for Guangzhou to "build a world city of high centrality, classic charm and modern vitality" is being validated by daily traffic data.

According to transportation big data, the average daily trips between Guangzhou and the eight other mainland cities of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) reach 3.34 million, accounting for nearly half of all trips within the GBA, with a 13.8% increase during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Meanwhile, the number of cross-city commuters—the "migratory birds" who travel daily between Guangzhou and surrounding cities—has exceeded 630,000, a rise of 14.5%.

The integration of Guangzhou and Foshan is the most compelling example: the daily flow of passengers between the two cities reaches 1.975 million, equivalent to the entire population of a medium-sized city moving between them. The Guangzhou-Qingyuan integration is growing even faster, with daily passenger trips increasing by 20.7%. The rapid expansion of the intercity railway network has provided strong support for these integration efforts. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the intercity mileage operated by Guangzhou Metro increased from 57 kilometers to 157 kilometers, putting downtown Foshan and Dongguan within 30 minutes, and downtown Zhaoqing and Huizhou within 60 minutes.

The trend is also evident in the Golden Inner Bay. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the number of cross-river passages in the Golden Inner Bay increased from 5 to 7, with the addition of the Guangzhou-Huizhou Intercity Railway and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link. Cross-river passenger traffic surged from 617,000 to 1.048 million, an increase of 70%. Nansha's status as the transportation hub of the GBA has become increasingly prominent, with its connections to Shenzhen and Dongguan increasing by 35.7% and 19.2%, respectively.

超63万“候鸟”用脚投票：广州加速打造“中心型世界城市”

“打造具有经典魅力和时代活力的中心型世界城市”，这一国家赋予的广州目标愿景，正在被每天产生的交通数据验证。

交通大数据显示，广州与大湾区内地8市之间，日均出行量达334万人次，占整个湾区近一半，“十四五”期间增长13.8%。而跨城通勤人口，也就是那些每天往返于广州和周边城市之间的“候鸟”，超过63万人，增长14.5%。

广佛同城最具说服力：两市日交换客流197.5万人次，相当于每天有一座中等城市的人口在两地间流动。广清一体化增速更快，日交换客流增幅达20.7%。城际铁路的快速成网为这些融合提供了硬支撑，“十四五”期间，广州地铁运营的城际里程从57公里增至157公里，30分钟到佛山、东莞中心城区，60分钟覆盖肇庆、惠州中心城区。

再看黄金内湾。“十四五”期间，黄金内湾跨江通道从5条增至7条，新增广惠城际铁路和深中通道，跨江客流量从61.7万人次猛增至104.8万人次，增幅70%。南沙作为“湾区交通中心”的地位愈发凸显，与深圳、东莞的联系增幅分别为35.7%和19.2%。
