On May 30th, AboFlah, a top influencer from the Middle East, joined young football trainees from Shenzhen for a cross-border football activity at the Eintracht Frankfurt (Shenzhen Nanshan) International Exchange Center. Though his scheduled stay was set to end, AboFlah repeatedly said on camera that he was reluctant to leave. His fondness for Shenzhen is not an isolated case. Reviewing public itineraries and original videos of overseas influencers over the past two years reveals a growing fondness for the city.

In April 2025, Darren Jason Watkins Jr., better known as IShowSpeed or simply Speed and nicknamed "Hyperthyroid Bro" by Chinese netizens for his boundless energy and expressive reactions, live-streamed from Shenzhen. During his visit, he witnessed a BYD Yangwang U8 floating on water at OCT Harbor, purchased three foldable phones at a Huawei store in a single visit, and watched a night drone light show featuring thousands of drones. He remarked sincerely, "Shenzhen has unparalleled technology." The live stream gained nearly 8 million views on YouTube.
In September 2025, Khaby Lame, a leading TikTok influencer nicknamed Speechless Brother, with over 259 million followers across the globe, visited Shenzhen. From an observation deck in Luohu on the 31st floor of the Shangri-La Hotel Shenzhen, he took in the city's blend of mountains and sea, explored intangible cultural heritage workshops for hands-on experience with paper-cutting and stone carving, and visited the Shuibei gold and jewelry industrial belt to observe its mature craft and commerce systems. He later commented that Shenzhen combines the modernity of a future city with the warmth and depth of traditional Chinese urban life.
The reason global influencers favor Shenzhen lies in the city's high-density, real-world deployment of cutting-edge technologies. Robotics in Shenzhen is fully integrated into daily life. UBTECH's Walker S series humanoid robots achieved large-scale commercial use, with 2025 orders approaching 1.4 billion yuan; EngineAI Robotics Technology's interactive dancing robots repeatedly became filming highlights for international influencers.
In terms of the low-altitude economy, Shenzhen is home to more than 1,900 enterprises along the industrial chain. Its consumer drones hold over 70% of the global market share. Meituan's drone delivery, urban low-altitude delivery and routine urban airspace applications allow overseas influencers to witness firsthand that Shenzhen's future technologies are not confined to labs or showrooms but embedded in ordinary people's daily meals and commutes.
Shenzhen also boasts solid advantages in new energy and intelligent terminals. BYD has topped global new energy passenger vehicle sales for several consecutive years; Huawei and Honor have launched iterative first releases of foldable phones, edge AI, and all-scenario smart wearable devices in Shenzhen. The floating cars, foldable phones, and integrated AI ecosystem experiences captured by influencers reflect Shenzhen's complete high-end manufacturing industry chain.
