The Guangdong-produced film "Dear You" recently surpassed 1.1 billion yuan at the box office, with the cumulative number of viewers exceeding 31 million, ranking among the top five on the 2026 annual box-office chart. Qiaopi (overseas Chinese remittance letters), which runs through the entire film, has sparked widespread attention.

Qiaopi, also known as Yinxin, is a collective term for letters and remittances sent by overseas Chinese to their families back home. After overseas Chinese arrived at their destinations, the first qiaopi they sent back home is called "Ping'an Pi," which not only reports their safety but can also include a small amount of remittance.

According to the Guangdong Provincial Archives, since the launch of the Memory of the World nomination in 2007, Guangdong has successfully driven the qiaopi archives to ascend through three levels of recognition, from the "Memory of the World National Register for China" to UNESCO's "Memory of the World Register." Since the successful heritage inscription, the holdings of Guangdong qiaopi have become increasingly robust, with the current provincial collection of qiaopi standing at approximately 429,600 pieces.

An official from the Guangdong Provincial Archives stated that since the successful inscription on the register, the collection volume of qiaopi in the province has grown steadily, currently reaching approximately 429,600 pieces. These collections are mainly concentrated in places such as Shantou, Chaozhou, Jiangmen, and Meizhou. Among them, Shantou holds about 197,500 pieces, Jiangmen about 50,000 pieces, and Meizhou about 70,000 pieces. The Guangdong Provincial Archives stands as the nation's premier provincial archives, boasting the most comprehensive types and the widest geographical sources of qiaopi.

广东馆藏侨批近43万件

近日，粤产电影《给阿嬷的情书》票房突破11亿元，累计观影人次超3100万，跻身2026年度票房榜前五。贯穿影片始终的“侨批”引发广泛关注。

侨批，又称银信，是海外华人华侨寄给家乡眷属的书信与汇款的合称。华人出洋，抵达目的地后寄回家乡的第一封侨批称为“平安批”，既可报平安，还可附少量批款。

记者从广东省档案馆了解到，自2007年启动申遗工作以来，广东已推动侨批档案完成从《中国档案文献遗产名录》到《世界记忆名录》的“三级跳”。成功申遗后，广东侨批的“家底”愈发厚实，目前全省馆藏侨批约42.96万件。

广东省档案馆相关负责人介绍：“成功申遗以来，我省侨批收藏量稳定增长，目前大约有42.96万件，主要集中在汕头、潮州、江门、梅州等地，其中汕头约19.75万件、江门约5万件、梅州约7万件，而广东省档案馆是全国侨批种类最全、来源范围最广的省级国家档案馆。”
