From popular Chinese IPs such as Boonie Bears, Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, Bing Dwen Dwen, and Dawanji, to industry leaders like Tencent, NetEase, 37 Interactive Entertainment, and Kuro Games, and further to critically acclaimed masterpieces like "I Am What I Am", "The Lychee Road", "The Sun Rises on Us All", and "Dear You", Guangdong's cultural industry has continuously produced blockbusters and gained mainstream popularity in recent years.

As China's top economic province, Guangdong also ranks first nationwide in the cultural industry. Its total cultural industry scale has led the country for more than two decades, holding a commanding lead in 18 key sectors including innovation capability, number of enterprises, intellectual property, gaming, and animation.

In terms of overall scale, Guangdong had 12,066 cultural and related corporate enterprises above the designated size in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.5%. The sector employed 1.3975 million people, generated an operating income of 2.77 trillion yuan with a year-on-year growth of 8.9%, and achieved total profits of 294.512 billion yuan, up 15.0% year on year.

Currently, Guangdong has developed dominant industrial clusters in film and television, animation, gaming, and esports. In 2025, Guangdong's box office revenue reached 6.348 billion yuan, ranking first nationwide for 24 consecutive years and driving the total value of the entire industrial chain to exceed 100 billion yuan. The province's total output and airtime of television animations accounted for nearly a quarter of the national total in 2025, exceeding the second-ranked province by 50%. Furthermore, the total revenue of the province's gaming industry exceeded 283.6 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year growth of 8.9% that captured 80.8% of the national market share. In 2025, the ultra-high-definition video industry joined the ranks as Guangdong's 10th trillion-yuan-level industrial cluster, accelerating the formation of an industrial highland.

Guangdong's foreign cultural trade accounts for approximately two-fifths of the national total, supported by a large number of internationally competitive cultural export enterprises and brands. Industry giants such as Huawei, Tencent, DJI, and 37 Interactive Entertainment not only dominate the domestic market but also successfully make major inroads into global markets.

As a hub where regional comprehensive innovation capability has ranked first in China for nine consecutive years and a national highland for artificial intelligence and cultural equipment manufacturing, Guangdong is currently empowering its cultural industry with new technologies like AI, AR, and VR to open up new tracks and head toward new blue oceans.

经济第一大省何以成文化“长跑冠军”？

从“熊出没”“喜羊羊”“冰墩墩”“大湾鸡”等国民IP，到腾讯、网易、三七互娱、库洛等头部玩家，再到《雄狮少年》《长安的荔枝》《日掛中天》《给阿嬷的情书》等口碑佳作......近年来，广东文化产业“爆款”频出，持续“出圈”。

广东是全国经济第一大省，同样也是全国文化产业第一大省，文化产业规模总量连续20多年领跑全国，在创新能力、企业数量、知识产权、游戏动漫等18项重要领域居全国领先地位。

从规模总量来看，2025年，全省规模以上文化及相关产业法人单位达12066家，同比增长1.5%；从业人员139.75万人，实现营业收入27730.46亿元，同比增长8.9%；利润总额2945.12亿元，同比增长15.0%。

目前广东已形成影视、动漫、游戏、电竞等文化产业优势集群。2025年广东电影票房63.48亿元，连续24年全国第一，拉动全产业链产值超千亿元；2025年全省电视动画发行部数、时长均占全国总量近四分之一，领先第二名50%；2025年全省游戏产业总营收超2836亿元，同比增长8.9%，占全国市场规模80.8%；2025年，超高清视频产业成为广东第10个万亿级产业集群，产业高地正加快形成。

广东对外文化贸易规模约占全国2/5，拥有一大批有国际竞争力的文化出口企业和品牌。华为、腾讯、大疆、三七互娱等行业巨头，不仅主导着国内市场，更在海外攻城略地。

作为区域创新综合能力连续9年位居全国第一、全国人工智能和文化装备制造高地的广东，目前正以AI、AR、VR等新技术赋能文化产业，开辟新赛道，奔向新蓝海。
