The launch ceremony for the 2026 International Chinese Language Day was held on April 20th at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. The event also marked the inaugural "Poetry Connects the World" — a Global Celebration of Classical Chinese Poetry. More than 700 Chinese and international guests came together, using the Chinese language and poetry as a bridge to deepen mutual learning among civilizations.

At the event, young participants from various countries shared their stories of connecting with the Chinese language and classical Chinese poetry. Yelena from Serbia said that learning Chinese has enabled her to understand the cultural expressions behind dance. Jeff from Cameroon, who once worked as a translator, noted that Chinese has not only equipped him with professional competence but also given him the ability to connect with the world. An Xin, a Russian student studying AI, spoke of experiencing the integration of technology and art, saying, "Technology leads us to the future, while art helps us understand each other's existence." Le Qi from Türkiye, now a Chinese language teacher, reflected that Chinese has not only helped her find a career she loves but also allows her to help others pursue their dreams.

These stories vividly reflect the continued rise of global enthusiasm for learning Chinese. Data shows that Chinese has been incorporated into national education systems in 90 countries, with nearly 210 million learners and users worldwide. Participants noted that more people overseas are coming to understand China through learning Chinese. All parties will take this event as an opportunity to further promote China's cultural and people-to-people exchanges with other countries and mutual learning among civilizations.

2026年“国际中文日”暨“诗约四海”全球中文诗友会启动

2026年“国际中文日”暨“诗约四海”全球中文诗友会启动仪式20日在北京邮电大学举行，700余名中外嘉宾齐聚一堂，以中文为桥、以诗词为媒，深化文明互鉴。

活动现场，多国青年分享了他们与中文及中华诗词结缘的故事。塞尔维亚姑娘叶琳娜表示，中文让她读懂舞蹈背后的文化表达。来自喀麦隆的杰夫曾担任翻译，他认为中文让他拥有了胜任工作的能力，更让他拥有了连接世界的可能。学习AI的俄罗斯籍留学生安心感受到科技与艺术的交融，她说：“科技让我们走向未来，艺术让我们理解彼此的存在。”土耳其姑娘乐琪作为一名中文教师，感慨中文不仅让她找到了热爱的事业，也可以帮助更多人找寻梦想。

一个个故事是全球“中文热”持续升温的鲜活注脚。数据显示，目前已有90个国家将中文纳入国民教育体系，国际中文学习者和使用者近2.1亿人次。与会嘉宾认为，当前越来越多海外民众通过学习中文了解中国。各方将以活动为契机深化中外人文交流与文明互鉴。

“国际中文日”由中国教育部中外语言交流合作中心倡议发起，此前已连续举办6届。今年活动的主题为“中文：点亮多彩梦想”，将在全球100多个国家举办上千场中国语言文化活动。
